But when he throws himself in front of a car to save a little kid's life, he becomes Tokyo's toughest teenage ghost! While his childhood friend Keiko grieves over his comatose body, Yusuke has one chance to return to life: raise a "spirit egg" at the behest of the comely Botan (aka Death) and her boss Koenma, lord of the infernal bureaucracy. But the creature that hatches from the spirit egg will be determined by the good or evil in Yusuke's soul - if he's not careful, he could create a monster!

When I first read this Manga, I was back in middle school about 12-13 years old , I was barrowing it from a friend because it looked interesting, I never finished the series because she only bought up to book 8 I think, but now I'm buying it all myself. Book one is good because it starts you off on a boys journey from being a delinquent to being a good guy.

At first I didn't see the big deal, I didn't know why my friend had such an obsession over over this manga. Lol, I read it now I'm as bad about it as her. This is the best manga series I've ever read. Btw, Barnes and Nobles messed up the title:it's Goodbye, Material World

I really like this series. Comedy/action mangas are usually what I look for, and this one was probably the best I've read. Oh, and there are some mistakes on the title B&N put: It's Goodbye, Material World, not Godbye Cruel World.

This was really good! They showed you a lot of stuf that didn't happen in the anime. ^_^ The art was good and I can't wait to buy the rest of the seires! *_*

This was great manga.I couldn't put it down and I find myself reading it over and over. There wasn't much action but it was still very good. The art was pretty good too. Too bad it ended when it was getting interesting, but if I told you then I would spoil it for some. I can't wait to get the second volume.

It really annoys me when you buy manga that's also an anime and find out that it's the exact same storyline, down to the exact words. The best thing about Yu Yu Hakusho's manga so far is that it's original from the anime. A lot of stuff happens while Yusuke's dead that you don't see in the anime. Great writing, great art, it's amazing.

I loved this manga! I recomend it to everyone, especilly people who don't like to read because there isn't a lot of reading and there are pictures. You can't help but fall in love with Yusuke's cocky attitude and Keiko's affection for him. p.s. Yusuke and Keiko are the cutiest couple!
