Meet the Author

Mitch currently lives in Arkansas. In mid-2009, he became a labor office statistic - along with millions of others - as he was laid off from his job of over a decade. An unexpectedly enjoyable read!

Very fast paced. I found myself wanting to read "just a little more" before going to sleep. Well written, because you simply don't want to put it down. The character development had me on the edge of my seat at times. I appreciated the fear and confusion the characters were going through. So many zombie stories make it appear as if the character has trained their entire life for just such an occurrence, but it was clear no one had any idea what was happening to them or what do to. They simply wanted to stay alive, making it even easier to empathize.

I definitely recommend this book for the sheer enjoyment of the read.

    Excellent Zombie Novel!!

Amazing book! I couldn't put it down. I love every aspect of the story line and following the characters through their struggles. I highly recommend this book to any Zombie loving reader. I can't wait to see what Mr. Cook does with the follow up.

A great addition to the zombie mythos

Strong storyline and good pacing; if you're a fan of "The Walking Dead" then this is a book you need to add to your collection. The characters are fully evolved and you can feel the danger as they do. There is a strong gritty realism that makes you think "What would I do?" At a little over 300 pages it's a quick read but you want to read every word. I know I'd read more stories set in this world. Only a small warning that this book is not all ages appropriate for language and violence.

    READS LIKE AN EXCELLENT MOVIE!

I read this novel on a lark and it is the first zombie book I have ever tried to read. On the other hand, I have seen plenty of zombie movies and I must say--this novel tops them all. As an author myself, I am amazed at the detail in this novel, the background on the way the government works when dealing with world-wide virus outbreak, and the peek inside what might really happen if a virus mutated into a zombie pandemic. So realistic! I particularly enjoyed the way the author executed the book, his writing style and use of the zombie genre. He knows his stuff. Anyone who enjoys zombies should enjoy this book. Rated R for language and zombie violence. (of course!)
