    KNOW THY EMEMY

So, it turns out that America's last line of defense is -- an Iraqi woman?!? Believe it or not, the author makes it much more plausible (and exciting) than it sounds. Welcome to the 21st century folks! Zammatra is a Middle East A** Kicking machine who takes her cues (and her More...dialogue) from the classics of the action-adventure genre. Imagine Electra as a military brat, and you've got the basic idea. Engaging, fun reading for anyone who likes a good Chuck Norris movie, or who doesn't have the patience to read 900 pages of Tom Clancy and just wants to get to the heart of the action.

Fast-paced, with a number of good (and unexpected) plot twists. The style is more B-Movie than Pulitzer prize winner, but I think that's more of a strength than a weakness. You get plenty of bang for your buck, and the emphasis is on entertainment. Let's face it, that's why we read and watch action/adventure anyway -- to get to the action.

From what I understand, the author is an all-american guy -- Vietnam Vet, truck driver, etc. -- which comes through in his writing. But there are also some really surprising aspects of the book too, that show that his gears are turning at a deeper level.

I won't spoil the plot, but I will say that the writer knows how to get you turning pages and does a good job of catching you off guard. Not for the Oprah crowd, and not likely to change your life, but definitely worth the read!! ...Shrink

    AWESOME READ

A page turner that catches you right in the beginning. A story that is sweet and right down to the point no long dragged-out story that bores you with major details. Action packed and hopefully a continuation. A MUST READ NOVEL!!!!!!!!

A very unique fast paced story line.

I bought this book just before Christmas, I think it was the cover that caught my eye. Anything involving the American Flag (in my book) is always worthy of some attention,Even if it is on fire. And for the author to have served in Vietnam, another plus. We, (my wife and I) enjoyed this short, fast paced, well written book from an author who was raised next door to Elvis, served his country in Vietnam fighting terrorist and hating the events of Sept. 11. The words of wisdom written for his main character Zammatra,'right or wrong has no religion, race,or nationality. I recommend that you purchase and read (right away) this well written book from a first time author.
