I read this book with a scientific mind, and I've been doing a lot of reading about electric and magnetic fields lately. The fact is, evidence of true health effects from most EMF sources is weak. After reading this book, I also read many of Gittleman's sources, as well as several more scientific articles and reports from NIEHS, the FCC, the FDA, and others, and I have to conclude that this book really only shows you a small piece of the larger issue. Gittleman only talks about the studies that prove her theory, and excludes the many that don't. Read this book if you wish, but be guarded. If you are really concerned about the health effects of EMFs, don't let this book be your only resource.

I am not surprised to see Ann Louise Gittleman once again on the leading edge of 'new' important health information. We all must be informed about Electronic Pollution since we are surrounded by it. This is a 'must read' for anyone interested in improving their health & well being.

This book peddles pseudoscience and irrational fearmongering. Gittleman's misuse and abuse of scientific words and concepts serves only to demonstrate her own ignorance in the fields of science and health. I am ashamed of Barnes and Noble for letting books like this be filed under Physics just because of their subject line, as well as Harper Collins for publishing it as such.
The references to other pseudoscience writers and their non-conclusioned or outright dis-confirmed "research" only confirm my opinion that this book fails to be helpful to its readers and at best wastes their time and intellectual potential in believing this misinformation. At worst, it makes a mockery of people honestly looking to improve their families' health and safety.

We all know that we are affected by the electronic gadgets around us to some degree, but this book really outlines all the sources of exposure and gives hundreds of easy (and some more complicated) ways of creating a safer environment and living our lives with less health problems as a result. Dr. Ann Louise has always been on the cutting edge with information in the nutrition field and I'm so glad that she is getting this message out to everyone, especially to parents of young children, who can be seriously harmed by our modern world of electropollution.

Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman's book, Zapped, covers a complex topic in a manner that's easy to understand and doesn't frighten the reader. Rather than presenting a "Doomsday" feel by hammering the dangers of Electronic Pollution on page after page, it presents the reader with a multitude of options to combat it that are practical and can be put into action as soon as they set the book down. It's informative, timely, and well written. Zapped is a crucial read for anyone in our modern society.

This book is such an eye opener for all of us! I learned so much about the connection between electricity and the human body. You must read about the damage that the electro magnetic fields are inflicting on our bodies!
