This application is recommended for ages 5+.

I wrote this application when my kids came home in 1st grade, and had to practice Rocket Math. Rocket math is something used in Arizona schools to drive home basic math facts in 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th graders.

The game itself is actually 5 games checking the 4 basic operators, +-*/, and a final game checking all operators together. Each "game" has 10 levels, starting with 123, and ending with all numbers 0-9. At it's most basic level, the game checks addition of the numbers 123 (1+1, 1+2 etc).

Since that time, a new school year has begun, and sadly, the school has switched to a more traditional way of teaching math facts: 1+1, 1+2 etc. This mode has been added to the application. Please enjoy.

The object of the game is to answer 25 questions within 60 seconds. When that point is reached, the text on the numbers for that level will turn "Green" indicating that the level has been completed.

How to play:

When opening the game, select a user (Add a user) and then hit "Play"

Select Operators:
- Select the operator you want, then hit the numbers you want to practice / play
+ On this screen, the numbers will turn "green" when you have successfully finished the operator / number combination within 60 seconds

Play Game Screen:
- The top half just shows the game you are playing
- The lower half of the screen is where you answer questions
+ If you don't answer within 5 seconds, an orange "Hint" appears. The point is to teach kids the answers, not make them suffer. They still have to type in the answer, so hopefully they learn.

Hitting back will always take you one step backwards

    Great for teaching and improving arithmetic computation skills

    I teach college, grad school, and test-prep math, and am frequently appalled by students ' overreliance on calculators, which has "dumbed down" their basic computational abilities. In contrast, this fun game should appeal to modern students' fondness for gadgetry, while testing and building their computational skills. I wish it were available as massive multiplayer game, so students could compete on teams and against each other, both aspects of which would further motivate use of the game and promote its benefits.

    My opinion

    I havent been able to play it but it looks useful. I think it will be good concidering im in 5th and we are memorizing our facts

    Won't open

    I have tried so many times to open it but it dosn't work. It
    opens and closes right away. I got it to help my younger sister who is 7 get better at math. I wish it would work.

    Wow

    I am 10 years old im goong to be a fith grader nxt year and im having trouble with math.this game has helped me memerize my facts i recomendthis to every one

    Too easy!

    Its fun, but its too easy, im in 7th grade math so this it EASY. They should make a harder one.

    I LOVE IT

    This ia amazing! Im bad at math facts , buy then when i got thiz im better ! Who cares if your bad or good dont brag id ur good ,if your bad, well just practice! Thiz goes to evrything not just this!

    Math

    This is a fun game, reminds of the good old school days when the teachers would give you timed math tests. This makes you think quick, and challenges you to beat your own time.
    The only problem is that the application can't be turned on its side to give a larger number keyboard, when going fast it is easy to push the wrong numbers when your fingers are large.

    Developer feedback

    Fair disclosure: I am the author of the app.

    I have made changes to the font size. I hope this helps everyone out there.

    Regarding the force closes reported above. My apologies for that, I finally figured it out, sorry it took so long. People were doing something I didnt expect, and unfortunately the game didnt react well, would force close on start up which is really unfortunate. The latest version of the game should reset corrupt databases.

    This game is ok but it's not challenging for kids.if they get the wrong answer the thing won't tell them what the answer is and that's what i don't get so you can get if you don't like a challenge

    A great app!

    This app is great. My daughter is working her timed math tests at school and this app lets her practice quickly and efficiently at home. She loves it and is working at the top of her class in math. Thanx
