"Some guys call, some date, and some guys, they might even get married. But, sweetheart, I ain't any of those guys..." ~ Zeke Declan

Every girl in Galveston County knows about Zeke Declan's rules and has agreed to them or is considering them.
Rule #1 Don't call him. He'll call you.
Rule #2 He doesn't date.
Rule #3 No sleepovers.
Rule #4 Absolutely, no virgins.

When a couple friends talk me into going back to their hometown in the Bayou for the summer and challenge me to break "the best damn lay in Galveston County" along with every single one of his ridiculous rules, I'm confident that I can get the job done. I'm no stranger to men. I have five older brothers. I'm a teacher and I'm used to being around rebellious teenagers. However, Zeke Declan is definitely not someone that I could have prepared for. He's not a testosterone-fueled, immature boy. He's a confident, arousing, playful, and mind-melting man. But, behind that sexy charming smile, I know he's hiding a secret. And, in order to break him, I'm going to need to find out what it is...

ZEKE (Breaking the Declan Brothers, #3) 4.5 out of 5 based on 0 ratings. 36 reviews.

Loved Zeke. All three brothers have been troubled but still manage to be Hot alphas - a combination that doesn't usually work, but has made this a great series. Still I hope the emphasis in the upcoming Kane Brothers series is more the hot alpha part and less the troubled angst part. And I hope she writes fast - want more!

HELP!!! I need more stars. Five just isn't enough. Okay frustration out of the way. Now the legal mumbo jumbo: I was give an ARC of Zeke in exchange for a honest review. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Zeke in the space provided. Zeke is book three of the Declan Brothers. The boys have been through a lot--the murder of their parents, the death of their beloved grandmother, the loss of the store to fire. But nothing has prepared them for the girls coming to break them. Zeke is the only one left standing. Jax and Slate have met their match and have been defeated. It is Zeke's duty to remain single. It is Zeke's believe that he doesn't deserve anything else. Remaining single shouldn't be difficult with his rules. Rules he shares with each woman before they get together. They don't care. They just want to "Ride the Lightening". Of course rules are made to be broken and Lurlene is just the gal to do it. It should be easy enough. Zeke needs to give her his phone number. They need to go out on a date. They need to have a sleepover. And Lurlene is the only one of the three girls able to break the last rule--absolutely no virgins!!! I expected laughs. I wasn't disappointed. I expected romance. Zeke's idea of romance is a little unique. I expected a few failures along the way. I didn't realize how determined Lurlene could be. She is a very intelligent, strong character. She is just what Zeke needs. I loved being a long for the ride and Lurlene manipulated Zeke. It was even better watching jealousy grow. But when Zeke told Lurlene what made him the way he is, what made his nightmares so terrible I cried. So thank you Kelly Gendron for writing such a realistic story. Thank you for writing such a "grabber" that I stayed up to finish it. I enjoyed all three books, but there is just something about Zeke and Lurlene that will stay with me.

I received this for an honest review. I have read all three books of Breaking the Declan Brothers and each book has been amazing. Kelly Gendron is one amazing author. I have books that I refer to as shelf worthy, which means not only do I have them on my e-reader but they are so good I have a copy on my shelf at home. This is one series I call shelf worthy. This is the third book in the series but do not worry it can be read as a standalone. Zeke Declan had 4 rules: (1) Don’t Call him. He’ll call you. (2) He doesn’t date. (3) No Sleepovers. And (4) Absolutely no virgins. You have to look at Zeke to wonder what caused him to have these rules. With each of the Declan brothers you discover there is some kind of scar there that they need to right woman to heal. Things from Zeke’s past broke my heart. Sorry you will have to read the book to find out. Might want a box of tissue though. I cannot imagine leaving with that much pain, hurt, and guilt for so long. He defiantly needs to have someone to talk to. When you keep something like this in for so long it eats at you until there is nothing left. I love Rayna and Emmie have talked Lurlene in to going after Zeke. Lurlene is perfect for she can not only get him to break rules 1-3 but is also the perfect one to break rule 4. Yip that is right Lurlene is a virgin. I so enjoyed reading about how she worked on breaking down all of Zeke’s walls. Does not mean that Zeke didn’t fight her along the way. There was so much hot sexual tension between the two of them. I loved Rusty in this series. She did not mind telling it like it was. I think she is one of the reasons that Lurlene kept pursuing after Zeke. Rusty thought a lot of the Declan brothers and wanted what was best for them. In a way I think they were like family to her. Lurlene knew what men like Zeke were like. She did have brothers that were just like him. In a way I think that helped give her some perspective on how to deal with him. I not certain Zeke knew what hit him. Once again I would like to state how much I enjoyed this book, though throughout the book I had to wonder what it would be like to “Ride the Lighting.”..LOL

Broken Rules are Often for the BEST!!! Young, Tough, and with everything to prove to his big brothers... Zeke Declan is thrown in the world trying to make his mark and prove that he fits in with his two older brothers. Each brother has strength and that is what made them one of the toughest MMA families around. But Zeke has more of a reputation than just a tough fighter. Women are drawn to him but he doesn't allow any of them to get too close. He has rules set to "protect" the women (so he says) and this has seemed to work up Lurlene comes to town. Lurlene doesn't know what to expect when she comes to town with her friends and is told to BREAK Zeke! A schoolteacher from New York who can't say NO to her girlfriends has just walked into a firestorm. But both Lurlene and Zeke were in for something they didn't expect. I didn't know what to expect from the final Declan brother and honestly, each brothers' story just got better and better. I didn't think there was anywhwere to go from Slate. But this was perfect closure to questions that I didn't even think to ask and an opening to a new series. Zeke & Lurlene went through emotional turmoil and it was just the right amount to fit the story and bring the couple to where they needed to be. The Declan Brothers were broke, put back together, and now building their way to be better than ever! Fabulous job, Kelly!

Great characters and well written, but it was way too short. Also the end was too rushed, which was disappointing. Only about 135 pages of actual story.

Zeke was my favorit book in the Declan Brother series. This book had everything I look for in a romance with a little grit, with the exception of length. These charecters are so great, that at 145 pages it leaves you wanting more from Zeke and Lulu; and not just what felt like a quick rap-up at the end. I look forward to reading about Lulu's brothers.

Kelly Gendron's series The Declan Brothers was a great series. I truly enjoyed all three books. Of course, I've been patiently waiting for Zeke's book and I was not disappointed!

Zeke has stolen my heart. As the youngest Declan brother, he seems the most level-headed but he is guarding traumatic secret, even from his brothers, which has dictated how he guides his life and is the foundation for all his walls guarding his heart. When he crosses paths with Lurlene one afternoon, he finds his foundation shaken. Lurlene makes it her quest to break the infamous Zeke Declan of all his rules. What she doesn’t expect is to find an incredibly smart, funny and genuine man who she is at risk of losing her heart to. Will she be able to break through to Zeke so that they can both find their HEA? What a fun and exciting journey for both of them with several twists I didn’t expect for either of them.

I am kind of sad that there are no more Declan brothers left to break. I thought the first book with Jax was my favorite, then Slate came along and I fell hard but you should never underestimate the youngest Zeke, for he stole the show. Yes, he has some crazy rules but what fun it was for Lurlene to break them and wasn't that part of the plan? To break the Declan brothers. What a great, emotional, sad, funny series that will leave you feeling everything is right in the world. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Lurlene was a little on the shy side but was a high school English teacher. But she also had a daring side. She was challenged by her friends to break Zeke and make him forget the rules he lived by as far as women were concerned. Lurlene was 25 and still a virgin . Zeke has older brothers and her two friends had taken on two of them and were successful. So now it was Lurlene’s turn. When Lurlene met Zeke he was nothing like she thought he would be. Zeke was confident, caring, playful, arousing, and like to quote from books. But they definitely liked to push each others buttons. Anyone could feel the chemistry between Zeke and Lurlene. But Zeke wanted to stay away but couldn’t seem to help himself and he wanted more and that scared him. Zeke felt he was shattered as a little boy. I liked this story a lot. I liked that Lurlene and Zeke became friends first. There are two other books in this series that would add more to this I am sure. The plot moves a little fast. The ending seems a little rushed to me. But I really liked the characters and all the ins and outs Zeke and Lurlene go through. I recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. I have not read any of the others in the series, but I wish I would have. It didn’t detract from me enjoying this novel, but I felt I was missing some things, or that they would have had more meaning had I read the previous novels. Not to mention, I enjoyed this novel so much, I feel that I would enjoy the others also. Zeke is a fairly short story in comparison but it was packed with a lot. I usually don’t like heroes like Zeke. I think their self-pity parties are ridiculous and these “code” they create to “keep themselves from being hurt” is ridiculous. Honestly, I don’t know why I requested this book since the premise of the entire story usually rubs me wrong. That being said, I enjoyed reading Zeke and Lurlene’s journey. They had tangible chemistry and their banter had me laughing the entire time. Gendron clearly has skill in writing both conversation and erotic scenes, two things that can seriously make or break a story for me. When she can have me laughing one line to sweating the next, I could help but appreciate her skill. There were some things that I didn’t agree and didn’t sit right with me, mainly Zeke’s typical idiot guy behavior. However, I also understand they are human and make mistakes If they were perfect, it would have boring!

4.5 stars. The third an last in this series. About 145 pages, and a great read!! This whole series about these brothers was great. Their struggles since their parents murder, then their grams death, and the fire at their gram's store. They have been thru a lot, but the women will help them heal, if they allow men allow them to. But there is another series this author is writing about, the Kane brothers which sounds like a great series to come. The Kane brothers are five older brothers of Zeke's girl. You meet one brother Token in this story... I highly recommend this series for it is steamy, emotional, funny, with hot alphas and strong women who love them. Also the loving was melt worthy..... :)****
