a great mix of authors, all trying to bring a unique idea to how the ZomPoc starts. The Morning Host Show: this was by far my favourite. I'm not sure I will ever pick up a real book again for fear of a paper cut! Minnie is such a real character I felt I knew her, or at least heard her shows. I'm sure we can all understand her need to do the "ostrich" on her discovery and as for letting the gorgeous Issac out to eat the world... hey we are known of us perfect. Zombie Curse: The author was very clever here, making you dislike the lead character and then plop you suddenly feel sorry for him, well I did! I did not enjoy the use of "man did this/man did that" when you already knew the character (my only gripe) but what a wonderfully imaginative cause! wowowowow Termination Papers: not a new or unique cause of the ZomPoc but the building of characters lives meant I really felt for their grisly ends. Such sadness in the cost of human life. The Scientific Method: this story really did not gel with me, the science and era felt all wrong. I usually love the diary style of story telling but this just felt like an after thought, with the false sense of disappearing conscience adding to my annoyance. Sorry. William: not sure how this tale turns into a flesh eating zombie horror tale but it was a scintillating sci-fi story that I loved. The slow build of horror from the youngster was spooky, with the elements of a kids lack of attention span.... awesome! Escargo: a unique patient zero idea, thankfully I hate snails (and squid), eating them that is! The wonderfully romantic church vs goth romance back story was inspired! Would have liked a snail/broodsac pov/reason instead of the blunt explanation paragraph that just felt like an after thought. Quietus: enjoyed the ducks and the style of writing and would have really liked this as a beginning chapter to a full length novel, but I did not see this as an original idea (what was IN the petri dish) and it sort of stopped just as it was getting going. Will look out for more by this author tho' as the descriptions and tale telling were great. Really entertained by this group of writers... love anthologies as they give you a little glimpse into some spectacular authors, brilliant stuff from this editor!
