Meet the Author

Third grade and I ventured into the big kid's hallway. The smells of Bunsen burners and teacher's lounge cigarette smoke were temporarily invaded by that of new books. We had eight kids; we didn't buy books; we had baskets full from the library.

I got a new book. This resulted in top-bunk reading for hours, and years of park bench, bathtub, between classes, and hidden in my American Government textbook during class reading. My preference was/is YA, mystery, and Classic English Lit.

A total absorption style of writing required that I wait until my kids grew up. Otherwise, I might submerge for hours, eventually resurfacing to find the children running wild, having had no dinner.

Eventually a YA story resurfaced, it became a novel, then another, and then another. It was as if they were bottled up for so long that when uncorked there was an explosion of people and plots and words.

My passion is to write for young women about real life, and for the many women-not as young-who read eBooks and love YA Lit.

My husband and I are blessed with four children and two grandchildren. We live in the Chicago area and enjoy an array of interesting guests (material).
