Zionism
Zionism is a movement and ideology that expresses the desires and aspirations of the Jewish people in the modern era, foremost of which is the "return" to the "Land of Israel." The roots of Zionism go back centuries, as Jewish movements emerged calling for the "return to the Land of Israel." These movements aroused enthusiasm in the hearts of the Jews that "salvation is very near," taking advantage of the economic, political, and social conditions that the Jews were going through in the various countries in which they lived. The term "Zionism" was approved at the First Zionist Conference held in Basel, Switzerland in the year 1897, and the first to use this term was the Jewish thinker Natan Birnboim (1864 - 1937), adapting the term from the word "Zion" to refer to the renewed movement that supports the "return" of the people. The Jew went to Palestine and fulfilled his dreams and wishes, which he called "Lovers of Zion" (Hovvei Zion),
