Zoie has decided that she is going to take matters into her own hands as a 35th birthday present to herself. Artificial insemination is the only way. She begins treatment and gets pregnant. Just before the end of her second trimester, tragedy strikes. She retreats from the world and her family.
Victor Cole is the principal at Zoie's niece's school. He has met all of the Norton sisters except the one he wants to meet, Zoie. He has wanted to have a moment to get to know the woman that is adored by all of her younger siblings. The timing is right and things are set but she calls things to a halt, suddenly.
