Overview

Samantha is holed up all alone in her apartment, trying to outlast the zombie apocalypse. During a routine trip into town for supplies, she is chased through the city by vicious Warriors, men that kill zombies, and make women wish they were dead. After being trapped on a roof at gunpoint, she is saved by the brothers Ryder and Reese, and she decides they might be her best chance for surival.

They set out from her apartment in search of a place that they can fortify and have a semi-normal life. Along the way, Samantha helps battle zombies, other survivors, and her growing feelings for both brothers. When they finally reach the island, the group settles in, trying to make the place as livable as possible. However, trouble quickly arrises in the form of the Warriors.

They've tracked the group of four down to their new home, and are out for revenge. Warriors, bullets, and fire separate the four survivors from each other, but Samantha can't give up. She has not only herself to think about now, but another group of young girls that need her help. Can Samantha survive the Warriors and reunite her group?

Meet the Author

My name is Samantha. I’m twenty years old, and I love reading and writing more than anything. I’d like to think that I’m good at it, but I’m always looking for ways to improve. My favorite thing to write about is Paranormal Romance, but I also like Fantasy and anything with a lot of action, as long it has a strong hero that I find relatable. Some of my favorite authors are Tamora Pierce, Darren Shan, J.K. Rowling, and a few others.

    A Wow!!!

I loved this book! The story was awesome and i loved the first person view. I liked the bit of romance too. It always had me on the edge of my seat. I noticed a few grammar mistakes but its not bad. And Ryders personality changes SO much at the end, which bothers me a little bit. Its still an amazing story! Best that I've read since Hunger Games.

Loved the book but the ending was too sudden

The story was great and i got really into it! But the ending was really abrupt and left me wanting more. I feel like the story was nowhere near finished.

Unlike the rude, overly-dramatic person beneath me, I quite enjoyed this book. In fact, I’m not even sure this person read the book. It’s written in first person present tense, which a lot of readers don’t like, and because of that, the book can sound a little overly descriptive in places. But it adds to the sense of urgency and fear that is in this book, and it leaves a lot of possibilities open, like whether or not the main character will actually survive the whole book. The book is actually quite short compared to most YA novels nowadays – only 70,000 words. If the reviewer actually spent more time on the story rather than his horribly fake sounding review, he might have enjoyed it better, because this is by far better than many self-published books I have read. Granted it wasn’t the best, but there were no grammar mistakes, no spelling or formatting mistakes, and the plot was always moving forward and there was always action and drama. This was an amazing book and well worth the 0.99 I paid for it.

    hard to put down

I loved this book. At first it was hard for me to get into but omg, i couldnt put it down after the second chapter. There were a few typos but the story was put together well. I got to the end and kept thinking there was another fight or the new girl to the group was going to kill sam.

    Awful

    >>This book was so bad. Insipid. Boring. Illogical. Uninspired. Ridiculous. Annoying. At 457 pages when 200 could have told the story...the authors writing style focuses on inane blow by blow minute detail. I could go on for 400 pages myself on how bad it is! Technically this book falls into the paranormal romance genre- and it is one of the very worst I have read. If you are unsure after reading this compared to the other review READ THE SAMPLE PAGES FIRST! This will save you the time and $. Try Mark Tufo or Ivan Turner's books for kick butt zombie stories.

    There is a a reason it's Free

You can completely tell this is written by a young woman or teenager that has never lived life. Her idea of survival, relationships and trauma are extremely juvenile. It didn't bother to read all of the it - couldn't stomach it the naivety - but I did skip to the end to read the finish. I know the author did put her "heart" into what she thought was good story telling, but this author needs to grow up a bit before attempting another.
You know what they say, write what you know... and this author knows nothing of the topics (excluding the possiblity of zombies - that's a side note and perhaps the one good thing the author was able to do, describe them well).

    Zombie Island

Pretty good free book! A few mispellings, but the book is free so not a lot of room for complaints. Cute and interesting storyline though, I'd recommend!!!

    Fast read

Fast read and not too bad. My complaint is the "what the heck?" moments. 6 people plus cases of water and food can fit into a Jeep? Drive from Kentucky to the northern part of Michigan in 7 hours? What, no road blocks to go around or traffic jams of stalled cars? Just clear sailing for hundreds of miles? Things like that take you out of the story. I know, it's a zombie story and that is far fetched anyway, but this one's details are too shallow. Time seems to go forward and then backward. Weeks have passed, then only days have passed. There are better zombie books out there. I'm glad it was free - no money, just time wasted.

    Awesome read

Aside from the sappy romance storyline, the book was awesome! It was a quick and easy read. There was a lot of gore, graphic scenes, and of course the zombie warriors made the story more horrific. Could have done without the cheesy lovy dovy stuff but glad there was some of that in the book. I watch the walking dead and thought this was so similiar to the show. Well done!

    A pretty good read

I enjoyed reading this short book. The characters are described well and the plot is constantly moving. The ending however seemed abrupt and didnt leave much room for a conclusion. That was the only thing that kept me from giving five stars.

    Great!

I really enjoyed this book, it was quick read and had me captured on the first page. I recommend this to anyone who likes zombie stories. There is some strong language here and there but it's bearable. This book is not for those with a weak stomach as there are some rather graphic zombie fighting scenes. Definately would read again :)
