Meet the Author

I was born in 1974 in Bremerton, Washington. I moved to Bellingham, Washington at the age of four and have been here ever since. I love living in the Pacific Northwest about two months out of the year. The other ten months it rains. Constant rain gives me plenty of time to read and write. While I'm hooked on writing horror right now, I enjoy many other genres. My favorite author is Robin Hobb, who also lives in the northwest. She is the award winning Fantasy author of Assassin's Apprentice and several sequels. I have one son. I named him Chance. He is currently six going on fifteen. We are both currently enrolled in school, but I am a few grades ahead of him.

We have already had a hint about what has happened in the Grimly household from the pov of the resident in Apt 205. So it comes as no great surprise when we do finally meet Mr Grimly, perhaps this psychopath gets his just desserts in the end, dark humour. Urthwild

It's pretty much Dawn of the Dead meets Psycho, which is actually a great idea. However, it really bugs me how off the author's grammar is. It could just be a mistake while typing, but one should really do a complete run-through before publishing, because it just seems like a student's English assignment turned in last minute. Ironically, throughout the story, the narrator is berating other characters' lack of English-speaking ability. Also, while I'm severely nitpicking, the "voice" of the wife changes quite a bit, ranging from appearing "slow" to being a stereotypical mad Mexican woman.

This is my least favorite of the series of stories involving the apartment building. Reminded me of Norman Bates with his mother's voice talking in his head. I did enjoy how the story ended though with him stopping for something to eat!

Solid short story, with a lead into another story. The story is about Mr. Grimly who at first you feel sorry for, but as you get to know him, he isn't a nice guy. This is part of the story of others who live in an apartment building. Its interesting in that each apartment is its own little world & how the great world impacts them all.

Short but enjoyable, read all of the short stories in series to get a true feeling of what is going on the day the world goes to hell.

This is the second of three stories of the people living in an apartment complex. This one is about a man and wife arguing over if she should still work or should she let him take care of her. Being a horror story it does not end well for at least one of them, and on top of that a zombie outbreak begins, not a good day for the couple. Also included in this book are a few chapters of another book by the author called Don Of The Dead. I found this book interesting and fun to read. Will review the third story shortly.
