Overview

It's not the end of the world. After fighting long and hard, humanity has learned to share its world with the undead. But there is a deeper secret yet uncovered. Todd Mayfield is one of a handful of zombies that have rediscovered their identities. To survive he must battle not only the humans that would see him destroyed but the hunger that threatens to drag him back into the depths of ignorance.

Todd Mayfield's life was hardly a special one, nor was he a very special person. Then, one day, he was bitten by a zombie. From that moment on, his entire existence was to be forever altered. First there was nothing. He was as mindless as his undead brethren. Then he began to remember. He began to rediscover the person he had once been. And that is when the nightmare truly began.

Daniel and Deanna Johnson are a very ordinary couple living in Bolton, Ontario. They each have very ordinary jobs and spend their evenings having dinner and playing Scrabble with the neighbors. But they, too, harbor secrets. Both are more than they seem. Both are fugitives from the United States government. Because what Denise Luco and Lance Naughton did on the day of the Red Blizzard, bringing a zombie back to life, has forever marked them.

Meet the Author

I was born and raised in New York City. I graduated from New York University with a degree in Computer Science and went on to do some programming for about 2 years. Later on I left programming to buy a comic book and gaming store. After a few years of that, I changed careers again. Now I teach math and computer science in a New York City high school. I am married with 2 children.

Writing and gaming (the face to face kind) are my first loves. In addition to my books, I've written a tabletop miniatures adventure game. The rules can be downloaded for free at my web site.

I'm not a big fan of intelligent zombies but I knew it was coming because of the way the last series ended. By now I've read a few in the second series and I'm okay with the way it's being handled. There are a couple of intelligent zombie characters and the rest of them are just mindless flesh eating ghouls. If you liked the first series, you'll like this one, too. It follows the same pattern of being about the characters. Good stuff.

I completed the whole series of Zombies 2.x  I enjoyed this series very much.  It's very imaginative and exciting and held my attention throughout the whole series.  I was sorry to see it end.  Wishing for more Zombie books from Ivan Turner.

I was an avid follower, loving the first series, which makes this review harder, but I was very disappointed in this one. I appreciate that you are trying to make the zombies more then just heartless meat eaters without a conscious. And I get that you may want to be different then other zombie authors. But you definitely lost me on this one. In trying to "humanize" the zombies, you have lost the "reality" in which one lives in a zombie world. Zombies are nothing more then heartless meat eaters. Gone is their life as they know it. Why make them more then what they are. IF you are going to make them somewhat smart, fine, let them figure out how to open doors for instance, but to have the zombies take showers and dress themselves and put cologne on?? Really? I don't get it. What is your next goal then. Zombies that fall in love and make zombie babies??
