I am always so hopeful when I start a book. This one was pretty good until the main hero started falling in with any group that would have him. I got really really tired of the sheer number of evil people waiting to kill, enslave or loot anyone they saw. I'm not naive and I know those people would exist but not everyone would be them. It got on my nerves about a third of the way in and it only got worse the more I read. I finished it though. Barely. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. It started out kind of interesting, but by the end I didn't really care about what happened to the characters. The protagonists didn't even have a goal... they just drove around seemingly without a goal. There should be some sort of rule that requires authors of zombie fiction to take a class on developing a story arc.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I loved the way this book was written; like a diary but with some real live action thrown in.
The depravity of human nature that is described was so sad, as it felt so real. The zombies were almost the second monsters.....
TW Brown does not bother with the whys and hows but the feelings and day to day survival.
I became attached to the main characters and really felt for them for the horrors that came their way.... Has a weird twist at 2/3 which I did not see coming and brought tears to my eyes.
Cant wait to carry on with the other 2 novels....

I really enjoyed this book by TW Brown. It was engaging and the characters stuck with me. Because it is a zombie story, it's gory and might be a bit over the top of you aren't a gore fan, but it involves more than just zombies, it has "human" monsters as well. It tells a cautionary tale of how when society is stripped away, there are human monsters to beware of as well.
Zomblog 2 is due in a few months, which is good because Zomblog leaves you on a bit of a delicious cliffhanger. What a fun book.
