Children's Literature - Susie Wilde
This board book is filled with familiar objects from baby's world to encourage saying first words and sounds that are exciting to mimic. Each book in the "Harper Growing Tree" series is designed to encourage early reading aloud. The series gives tremendous care to developmental stages in terms of language learning, book handling, and intellectual development.
Children's Literature - Susie Wilde
Babies are encouraged to say those first words and mimic sounds as they gaze upon pictures of familiar objects in their world. This is part of an exciting new series designed to encourage early reading aloud. The philosophy behind it is based on studies that show the first three years of life are the most active period of language acquisition. Much care has been given to the developmental stages of babies in terms of language learning, book handling and intellectual development. This is just plain fun and made to be read aloud. It will help parents match their child's development with books.
School Library Journal
A fast-paced, zip-zapping board book that begs to be read with as much gusto as possiblepreferably three or four times in a row. "Away we go!/Old cars, new cars,/ZOOM! ZOOM! ZOOM!/Big cars,/little cars,/BE-BOP,/KA-ZOOM!" The bright and busy illustrations are packed with energy. The edges blur a bit (since the cars are racing around so fast) and the pages are dotted with electric squiggles and jagged lines outlining the various cars. A whiz-bang choice for toddler collections.Lisa Gangemi Krapp, Sousa Elementary School, Port Washington, NY

The very simple text takes a back seat to the flashy visuals, but it is sharp and lively. -- The New York Times Book Review
Kirkus Reviews
In the new Harper Growing Tree series, a Go Dogs, Go! for the '90s. Hurd (Art Dog) piles dogs into cars, and allows them to drive through the neon-washed streets of the city: "Big cars, little cars, be-bop, ka-ZOOM!" The canines honk, bop, and race until a smash-up temporarily puts them out of commission. A little tinkering in the repair shop fixes up their vehicles as good as new. This stylish, jazzy cruise is depicted in illustrations that are part cartoon, part paste-up, where vintage cars and more futuristic models have streaks of colored light and gleaming chrome to tantalize young eyes. The melange of colors and collage practically guarantees a joy ride.

    Sam loves this!

My almost-three-year-old son, Sam, loves this book. He receieved it a long time ago as a gift and still loves it. He knows all the words and sleeps with the book every night. I would recommend this book to anyone with a little boy or girl who loves cars!
