Washington's Crossing
by David Hackett Fischer
Fischer's riveting analysis examines the critical moment in U.S. history when George Washington crossed the Delaware -- effectively turning the tide of the American Revolution. "Fischer's ability to combine the panoramic with the palpable is unparalleled in giving us a glimpse of what warfare back then was really like," Joseph J. Ellis noted in The New York Times Book Review.

Good to Know

In our exclusive interview with Fischer, he talked about some of his inspirations. "I am working now on a book about New Zealand, so with that in mind, I have been watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as Heavenly Creatures," he reveals. "I think Peter Jackson is a really interesting director. He made great use of the natural beauties (and challenges) of the landscape in New Zealand, which added immeasurably to his films. I admire his ambition and fearlessness in pursuing his vision."

Paul Revere's Ride
by David Hackett Fischer
In this exciting narrative, Fischer offers new insights into the iconic American figure of Paul Revere -- a man far more complex than the simple artisan and messenger of traditional accounts. According to The New York Times, it "carefully corrects old myths and introduces us anew to one of the most deceptively familiar stories of the American past."
