About the Author

Brigid Alverson has been reading comics since she was four years old. She has an MFA in printmaking and has worked as a book editor and a newspaper reporter; now she is assistant to the mayor of a small city. She writes about manga at her site MangaBlog and about all sorts of comics for Robot 6, Comic Book Resources, Publishers Weekly, and School Library Journal, where she also serves as editor of the Good Comics for Kids blog. Brigid is married to a physicist who was part of the team that found the Higgs boson, and has two daughters who are in college. She was a judge for the 2012 Eisner Awards.
