I collect cookbooks and usually find one or two recipes from each that I use. However, this cookbook has so many wonderful recipes that I've made several already. I really like that they tell you what type of recipe it is - recovery, pre-run, low-calorie, etc. There are many fun snacks, too, that help keep eating right fun!
This book is really great-the recipes are packed with nutrition but aren't necessarily low fat, low calorie type things. Which is great, getting my family to eat "healthy" is a challenge, but the recipes in this give me the nutrition I need as an avid runner/cyclist but taste good enough that my family loves them too! The only thing I can say against it, you have to read the paragraph-it may say you need to serve it with rice but it'll never mention it in the recipe itself.
I am still "digesting" this cookbook, but I am impressed with the variety of good recipes I find here. They are giving me ideas for all manner of culinary things. Whether you are a runner or not, this is a good cookbook, not just for the library, but for the kitchen counter!
I subscribe to the magazine and always enjoy the recipes so I bought the book. I am glad that I did. I have tried many of the recipes, especially the smoothies, and they are all great.
Got this as my husband asked for it. I keep all of the recipes from the magazine. This so well put together and lets you know what each recipe is. Highly recommend to anyone that is a runner and loves to eat.
