This book was recommended to me by my hair dresser who is 20 years younger than me. I thought prior to reading that its content might not apply to me a fifty plus woman. I was wrong. It is a must read with hard truths and inspiring personal stories. It has made me think about whats keeping me from succeeding in all areas of my life.

Each chapter was better than the last. The book spoke to me in so many ways!

This book is real. She pours out her sadness to give you hope through yours. She doesn’t try to sell you some miracle self help book. She speaks as though you (the reader) is her friend that she genuinely wants to succeed. I loved every page and will read over and over.

I was somewhat skeptical about this book at first. But with each sentence I keep identifying with every single word! This book gave me goose bumps, made me laugh, cry and helped turn a light back on that had gone off a long time ago. I didn’t want the book to end lol!! I will be reading this over and over again and giving it to my daughters for Christmas!

Excellent book! A definite must-read for every single woman in the whole entire world. Seriously. Hollis does a beautiful job laying out ugly truths and encouraging the reader to make a better life. As she says, STOP waiting for someone else to fix your life. Take care of your body. Go all-in towards your goals. Stop comparing yourself to others. No excuses. Be a good human and treat other humans with kindness and respect. Cry. Laugh. Have fun and be silly. Love. EAT. Have sex. Stop judging people. Lift each other up. Embrace the chaos and don't you EVER give up. Determine what you want your life to be like and go get 'em.

Girl, Wash Your Face By Rachel Hollis Easy to read: Yes Life changing: Yes Inspiring: Yes Full of truths: Yes Down to earth: Yes Yes, Yes, Yes to this book. I want to buy it for every girl I know young and old. I think that Rachels honesty throughout this book is what makes it so special. We are all in need of her words and I hope that you read this book! Perspective: 31 yr old, wife to my high school sweetheart, mother of 2 boys (3 and 7), casual Occupational Therapy Assistant, a sufferer of anxiety/depression, and most important Jesus freak. I can say that this book was read in almost an evening and got me all pumped I couldn't go to sleep. Not to steal the phrase but just do it. I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

*I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in return for a fair and honest review. I am not in the target market for this book. I am 40 and have 2 boys in their mid and late teens. I would have LOVED, to read this book in my younger, young family years. However, I still loved this book. Rachel Hollis is relatable. It was as if this book is a conversation with your best friend, just talking and keeping the conversation real. There were many valid points in this books, but the key was to do what works for you. Be you. Be confident and DON'T take "no" for an answer when you are striving to reach your goals. I can't wait to read her next book, Girl, Stop Apologizing, that is coming out in March 2019!

"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review." Ok, so this book that I am about to write a review on has been on Amazon's most read books list for about 34 weeks. That intrigued me and I decided to check it out. Now clearly this book is written for women and I had no business picking it up but it's popularity made me forget gender specificity and go for it anyways. At it's fundamental level this book is a peer-to-peer advise from Rachel Hollis (if you don't know who she is like I didn't, I suggest you Wiki her) to women who are dealing with some unpleasant things that come with being a woman. Ms. Hollis uses examples and events from her own life to show how she dealt with such issues. Although, apart from may be two or three women specific issues, most of the advise can be equally be dispensed to men as well who are trying to better themselves. I personally feel the advise in this book is pretty gender neutral. So if you are looking for some motivation to start out your new year then this book might provide you some. Overall, it's a quick read and in my opinion almost everybody can relate to the subject matter as it deals with issues such as habits, dealing with childhood trauma, motherhood issues, balancing work and home life, etc.
