Thank You, God, for Grandmas, Nanas and Mimis too, Gigis and Grams and Grandmommies — They're great, grand gifts from You!
My home away from home — I'm always welcome there! My grandma has her special ways To show how much she cares.
Her house is full of treasures, And she lets us explore! You never know just what you'll find Beyond each open door.
Dress-up time with Grandma — She has the coolest clothes! We always look so fabulous, From our heads to our toes.
So full of surprises — She keeps us on our feet! And when it comes to hide-and-seek My grandma can't be beat!
A pinch of this and that, And sweetness fills the room; She shares her secret recipe And lets me lick the spoon!
Yes, sometimes she spoils us. She gives us treats; it's true. But she says that she can't help it — It's just what grandmas do!
Grandma always shows us To care for others too, To find a way to brighten a day And let God's love shine through.

“Thank You, God, for Grandma-Now matter what I do, I know she'll always love me, and ...Grandma, I love you too!” Thank You, God, for Grandma is a soft covered board book written by Amy Parker, Illustrated by Rosalinda Lightly. It follows a grandmother bear with her 2 cub grandchildren while they explore Grandma's house, dress up in her clothes, play hide-and-seek, bake treats, play and sing. The story also shows how Grandma cares for the cubs and teaches the bear cubs about caring for others. Each set of pages has a short rhyming poem relating to Grandmother. This adorable little book is just 20 pages long. The story is very cute. It is the perfect length to read to a young child. The pages are so colorful and have a lot of details within them to make for a conversation between the reader and the child. This is a great book for describing the relationship between a grandma and her grandchildren. This book will help little ones realize the special gift God has given them – their grandma. The book is the perfect size for toddlers hands to hold. The cover and pages are easy to clean and very durable. This would be a cute book to have in the home to help teach the youngest of children about grandmothers when they are not able to see them often. I received a copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers and have written an honest review.
Perfect for the little one in your life, this hard back book Thank You, God, for Grandma with cushioned cover is just a sweet and loving reminder of how special family is in our lives. The first page includes an "all inclusive" naming system for the Grandmas too so that it can work for every family! Thank You, God, for Grandmas, Nanas and Mimis too, Gigis and Grams and Grandmommies— They’re great, grand gifts from You! The text includes sweet rhymes and beautiful illustrations, and this is simply a book that leaves you feeling happy! Amy Parker’s children’s books have sold more than 800,000 copies, including two Christian Retailing’s Best award-winning books and the bestselling A Night Night Prayer. This is a perfect book for an Easter present from Grandma to child. Booklook Bloggers provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Grandmas are a blessing (and so are grandchildren, so I’m told!), and this book, “Thank you, God, for Grandma” by Amy Parker and illustrated by Rosalinda Kightley is a colorful adventure to show kids how much fun their grandmas are. The book reads as a sweet poem—each of the page spreads carries four lines of text on top of pictures of snuggly bears adventuring outside and inside. The cubs learn from Grandma, have fun with Grandma, and thank God for Grandma. The pictures are appealing, and the message is simple. I can imagine toddlers wanting to read this over and over again! http://booksneeze.com/blogger/resources/9781400203048 The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book through BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review.
I love every single book Amy Parker writes, and this one is no different. I was especially excited about this book because so many Grandma books are just about that: Grandma. But they leave out the Nana's, Mimi's and Gigi's. But this one doesn't. And that matters to me because my mom is called Mimi, and my mother-in-law is called Nana. The very first page addresses some different names given to Grandma's, and every page following is as sweet as can be. The illustrations are colorful, the words are joyful and rhyming, and the overall message is full of love. This could be the perfect Mothers Day gift for lots of wonderful Grandma's, Nana's, Mimi's etc. out there!
