Overview

This is a story written in two parts: Time, Indians, Settlers and Townships and Independence Is Won; A Nation is Born.

Book 1 tells of the geological beginnings of Weymouth. It is a story about the people who are believed to have lived here first - the Massuchuset Indians - and their way of life.

It is also a story about the brave men, women, and children who came across the Atlantic Oean from England, Holland and other European countries to live here. It is a story about those who came for religious freedom, to create businesses and trade, own land, and experience the adventures of settling and living in a new world. It is a story of how Weymouth began, how the people lived, and how the town grew during those two hundred years leading up to the American Revolution.

This is not a history book. It is an effort to bring history alive as if you were there with those people and in those places when it happened. Although places and dates are accurate, some names are fictitious.
