harlie is the sheriff of a small town in Australia after leaving the spy world. He changed his name, his identity, but kept a close eye on things in case danger came knocking at his door. Danger has arrived and her name is Dani – his wife. Dani is on the run because she refused to do a job for the same spy organization and she sought out Charlie in hopes of saying goodbye before she was found and killed. But, they profess their love for one another and then vow to face their attacker, aka the director of the organization, and put an end to him. Having not read the rest of the series, I found this book to work as a stand-alone. The action, suspense, and fast pace kept me entertained and wanting more. Charlie is beloved by his town, but the people (and his mates) don’t know his history or how he came to be their sheriff. Dani is a dangerous woman who was tasked with killing Charlie once up on a time, but failed in hopes of saving him and causing him to run. Their love and attraction has lasted all of the years they were apart and the sacrifices each made for the other just blew me away. They are both on the edge while waiting for danger to find them, all while finally admitting how deeply their love for one another runs. And the sexual tension? WOW! Better With You is a great, sexy, suspenseful story that is easily read in one sitting. The only con to this story is that I now want to go back to read the rest of the series! Not a con at all. *copy provided for review.

This is an exciting action packed sexy tale of an estranged husband and wife who find themselves once again embroiled in each other's lives. While Charlie has settled in nicely in his fairly smooth sailing job as a police officer in a dusty outback town, he hasn't forgotten his old life as a covert agent, in which his wife tried to kill him. Well, tried and failed obviously, destroying any trust they had built up between them, and putting him on the run. When she shows up in his bar, sitting with his friends, his instincts are off the charts that it'll be a fight for survival all over again. He just doesn't count on the smoldering heat that still lies between them. Can he trust Dani to finally tell him the truth about what happened in the past? And will it be enough to let her into his bed, and his heart again? There was a lot going on in this novella! As part of the Outback Skies series, we were introduced to Charlie as a secondary character in the earlier novellas as a quiet and unassuming figure - just the type to hide his real existence. In fact, he used to work as a spy for the Australian government, one in which his last assignment resulted in a kill or be killed order - against his fellow agent and woman he'd married as part of their cover. He balks, but she doesn't (or so it appeared) and this sent them off on a spiral of deceit and lies that culminates in them meeting again now, a few years later, in his new home town. I loved the way the story played out, the obvious sexual tension between Charlie and Dani leading to some very sexy scenes, even as they keep one eye out for a knife in the back. It's hard to believe that they can really come to trust each other again, but Dani eventually lets all her secrets spill, and they are enough for Charlie to consider letting her back into his life. But of course, it's not going to be so simple, especially when the man who set them up in the first place is relentlessly tracking them. There are some nice cameos of a few of the other characters we know from the town, the ones whom Charlie has become solid friends with and whose lives he's not wiling to risk. Sexy, fun, and action packed- a great addition to the series! 4 stars.

Better with You is the fourth and last installment in the Outback Skies series, and I've been eagerly awaiting Charlie's story for what seems like forever. He's always had this mysterious quality to him and he always seemed to know a bit much for a cop out in Whoop Whoop, if you know what I mean? Anyhoo, I knew his story was going to be great, but Lexxie definitely impressed me with Better with You. Now I'm not going to try to get into too much detail about the story, because that would give away key elements that I'd rather you read it. Instead, I'm just going to tell you that this book was not only sexy as all get out, but it was packed with action and so much sexual tension your e-reader is going to go up in flames. Seriously, it's that hot! Lexxie has this uncanny ability to weave so much sexual tension into her books all while seamlessly maintaining the story line. It's quite impressive, and if you haven't given this series a read yet, I definitely suggest you do so. Not only are they great reads, but you might find hidden cameos of other characters from her books as well in there. That's what I've come to love about Lex's contemporary books. She has her own world of characters and you never know when one from a previous book will pop in or a secondary character might just get their own book down the line in a different series. It's all so fun, and I just love it. Anyhoo, back to Better with You. I was hooked from page one with the action/suspense going on and the sexy times made it that much better. Seriously, it is great so go grab it!

Better With You by Lexxie Couper was a thrilling, action packed story about an estranged "married" couple and their tumultuous past. Charlie and Dani were two very strong-willed, adventurous people who lived a very dangerous life but connected sexually. There was lots of action and some very steamy sex that burned the pages. I enjoyed watching them work out their problems and admitting their love for one another. This was a great addition to the Outback Skies series.
