I am so happy that Sean Michael listens to me. Actually, I have no idea whether the author does or not, but I asked for a longer story about Whip and Nicky, one that showed their life after the Gay Riders Carnivale weekend was over and they were back in the city trying to make their newfound relationship work. And, voilá, here is 'Bringing Nicky Home'. So, I'm going to imagine that the author listens to me. *grins* "He got Nicky’s fear, though. They’d had a whirlwind courtship, hot and heavy from the start, but away from home, away from the regular stressors of life. They hadn’t been tested yet." I could definitely understand Nicky's fear and worry. His first "master", if he could even be called that, treated Nicky like dirt, abusing him, and using him, all in the name of BDSM. Nicky keeps expecting to wake up from this reality of having spent the last four days with Whip and now being in his home, and discover the whole thing was a wonderful dream. I adored Whip even more for wanting to make sure he always praised Nicky and made him feel valued and loved. Watching these two men, who need each other so much, settle into their new life together was wonderful. I wasn't particularly surprised that the author brought Dirk, Nicky's abuser, back into the picture. Nicky is so sweet, so giving, so trusting and loyal, that I didn't think he'd be able to stay away. Being the nasty piece of trash that he is, Dirk tries to come at Nicky alone, and then he brings five other guys to try to beat Nicky to death. Luckily for Nicky, his self-confidence has grown while being with Whip and he isn’t going to take anything lying down. Of course Whip wasn't going to let his pup be hurt, either. A fabulous story showcasing two of my favorite characters. Thank you, Sean, and I really hope you plan more for this series! This was a good read. I couldn't help thinking the way the MCS talked to each other reminded me of characters from the author's Chess series. It was kinda annoying.

4.5 stars! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to see Whip and Nicky once again. There is plenty of action and tons of spicy moments. Nicky is full of self doubt and worry that Whip will see his faults. He's really afraid of Whip leaving him. Whip is head over heels in love with boy, but he still sees Nicky's fear and strives in every way to prove to him that they are permanent. My favorite part was that Nicky, not Whip, was the one to propose. Adult read
