This is Book 7 in Roxanne St. Claire’s Dogfather Series. It is the story of the youngest Kilcannon family member, Darcy. Determined not to fall prey to her father’s matchmaking skills, Darcy decides to move out on her own and, at the same time, establish her business as a dog groomer away from Waterford Farm, the family home. Her search for her own place brings her to a newly remodeled apartment in a building owned and being renovated by Josh Ranier. The only problem is the landlord’s rule of no dogs allowed. Not wanting to be denied residency, Darcy plans to hide her little Shih Tzu, Kookie, from Josh and move in anyway. Having recently sworn off all women after finding his girlfriend with another man on the night he planned to propose, Josh threw himself completely into his reno project until the ex showed up with the dog they shared when they were together. With no explanation, she leaves the dog with him and disappears, but somethings are not right. The dog, Stella, was fine when they parted ways but now is acting strange only to find out she has become blind. Her only chance to restore her sight is complicated by Josh’s dysfunctional family, the disappearance of the owner from whom permission is needed for treatment and a mystery about some family jewels. This book has it all. From mystery to new relationships to doggie love, you will fall in love with the Kilcannon family. This is a stand alone book but I would recommend the previous books be read first to become familiar with the delightful Kilcannon Family. Let it be noted that the cover models are actual dog owners and rescue pups from the Alaqua Animal Refuge in Roxanne’s home state of Florida. A portion of the proceeds goes to the shelter.

This one was as good as the first . The story was different a mystery this time with a sick dog who needs help. Two people bond over helping her. So great

Absolutely love this series. Book 7 in the series revolves around the baby of the Kilcannon family - Darcy. When she moved back home after the passing of her mom it was to help fill a void left by her passing. Now Darcy feels she needs to spread her wings and move out and open her own Doggie Spa. Enter Hot Landlord, Joshua, who is a strictly for rules, and one of them is no pets allowed. No way, no how will Darcy go anywhere without her beloved Kookie. When Joshua's ex leaves Stella (her now blind dog) with Joshua, Darcy steps in to help. Love how the storyline develops between them. While this is book 7 in a series you can definitely read this as a stand alone book. However, you'll get more enjoyment since each book builds on all the characters you will read about in this book. Highly recommend everyone to read this series. Can't wait to read the Dogfather's story. Do not want this series to end!

ANOTHER GREAT KILCANNON ADVENTURE! Roxanne St. Claire is an automatic read for me every time. This latest book in the Dogfather series brings us back to Bitter Bark once again for the story of Darcy, the last of the single and the youngest Killcannon sibling. This story starts with Darcy Kilcannon turning thirty, and Josh Ranier having his own life event making him swear off relationships for good. Darcy, set on finding independence instead of love meets Josh, who happens to be her landlord, then they begin a journey where simply being “friends with dogs” is the goal. Little did they know that their attempt to do what was best for the dogs, especially poor Stella, would bring them closer together and eventually lead to their own happily ever after. Roxanne St. Claire is again dependable in her creativity to tell a beautiful, adventurous, and often suspenseful story. She created Bitter Bark with everything you’d expect from a quaint small town with unique and lovable characters, and by book seven it is no longer a fictitious town within the pages of a book, but rather a familiar location that readers feel they have experienced in person. Part of what I love so much about her stories are the characters she creates and the uniqueness of them all. In a family with six siblings, there are no cookie cutter characters, each have their own voice and personality to add to the story. We even catch a glimpse of a past hero and his love from an earlier novel (not set in this series) that allows readers to see how they are today. But it is her ability to create heartwarming and humorous secondary characters that I love the most about her stories, and her Dogfather series does not disappoint. Roxanne’s love of family, the dedication to detail of how this family works together to run Waterford Farms makes this series so endearing and enjoyable. Although Darcy and Josh are a strong candidate for my favorite couple of the series, I was thrilled to know there would be more in the Dogfather series, with the next being the Dogfather himself, and then perhaps the Mahoney cousins. Do yourself a favor and visit Bitter Bark- you won’t be disappointed!

WOW!! How could one not love Double Dog Dare by Roxanne St. Claire, book six in her Dogfather series. This wonderful and amazing story features a hot landlord, a blind dog, a second dog wanting to help and take care of the blind dog, a dog groomer looking for independence, and hateful, evil stepsiblings. Darcy, the youngest of the six Kilcannon children has decided that it was time for her to learn to be totally independent, moving into her own apartment and moving her grooming salon to the main section of Bitter Bark. As Darcy moves into her apartment she finds her landlord is super hot and a rule follower who did not want tenants to have dogs. Josh swore to never fall in love again after finding his girlfriend cheating on him with his stepbrother the morning he planned to ask her to marry him. Moving to Bitter Bark and renovating an apartment building seemed like a great way to recover and start his life anew. As Josh and Darcy work together to help the blind dog left to Josh by his ex, they found they not only shared a common interest but an attraction and chemistry. Josh taught Darcy that allowing a man into her life did not make her less independent and Darcy taught Josh that there were all kinds of love that could happen between people. Ms. St. Claire wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is not to be missed. She drew me into the lives of her characters, making me forget the world around me. This book is a standalone but includes characters from the previous books in this series. I highly recommend this book to other readers and am looking forward to the next entry in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Double Dog Dare, the latest Dogfather book by Roxanne St. Claire, is Darcy. Darcy is the final of the Dogfather’s kids and in reality he’s not quite ready to let her go. Darcy, on the other hand, is ready to start living her life out of the supportive shadows of her family. As often happens in these situations, things do not go as planned. Supported by Kookie, and Stella, two loveable pups, Darcy and Josh find their way together, and realize that sometimes supportive shadows are the best things ever. Dogfather fans, make sure you block your calendar, this one will keep you reading from page one to the heartwarming the end. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Another delightful edition to the Dogfather series by Roxanne St. Claire. The baby of the family, Darcy Kilcannon, the dog groomer becomes entangled with Josh Ranier, a contractor who is also her “Hot Landlord.” Together they become “friends with dogs” in their quest to obtain permission for specialized care for Stella, a Chinese crested dog who contracts SARDS and is blind. There are Cinderella/Cinderfella elements to the story. The humor with the Kilcannon kids placing bets on possible partners for their father, Daniel was entertaining. Woven in the story is the essence of dogs. “Dogs are life to us, and this is what we do.” Dogs rescuing people is at the heart of this series. “…. You’re going to save someone real soon, I promise.”

A must read for all romance and dog lovers readers. Daniel Kilcannon has one daughter to marry off, can he play magic as the matchmaker for one last time. Darcy has no interest in finding love for ever after. She has struck out on her own, with her beloved dog, Kookie and starting her own business. She soon meets her new hot landlord, Joshua. Joshua is new to Bitter Bark after a failed relationship. He soon has custody of his ex's dog, Stella. In their mind, they will be friends with dogs... hmm.... Once again I have fallen in love with Kilcannon family, full of emotions and what a real family is. Loved the development of the relationship of Darcy and Joshua. How could I not fall in love with Stella!! I highly recommend this book.

Oh my! The feels in this one are over the top and every page better than the one before. Darcy is the last of the Kilcannon clan and on her 30th birthday she has a surprise for her dad and the rest of the family...she is moving out and starting her own business in town. Independence is what she wants, not to be set up by the Dogfather. Nope, that is not in her future, she will not stand for it. Josh Ranier is renovating apartments and looking for a tenant and since there is still construction going on he has a no pets clause. Yeah, right. Where Darcy goes, so does Kookie. Well, one look at Josh and Darcy is sure the Dogfather has set her up but since Josh is recently out of a relationship and not looking for another, these two come to an understanding when his ex shows up with her dog who has gone blind needing help. Now, since Josh has a dog, he cannot keep Darcy from having one. These two work together so well as friends with dogs they soon don't realize when lines are crossed or don't care. Families such as the Kilcannon family have a way of pulling you in and Josh was ripe for the pulling but when he took Darcy home to his she managed to fit in there and helped to mend some rips there too. It is hard to believe we have come to the end of the Kilcannon kids and the Dogfather set them all up, or at least he did the most of them, he maintains he didn't this one and maybe Annie had something to do with it (I think so too). I highly recommend this one and this could be read as a standalone, as all of this series could, but really why would you want to because each is so spectacularly told and each story is so special. **Received this ARC for review**

Darcy is turning 30 and she wants her independence and her own dog grooming shop. Daniel is having a hard time of letting her go of course he knows of the perfect place. Josh who need this next to the apt to lease out so he can finish the last. He meets Darcy and Kookie the night before she is to move in. Her HL(hot landlord) is a stickler for rules especially the ones he sworn never to break. Read the story of these two who fight tooth and nail not to like each other. Don’t start reading if you have work because once you start you won’t put it down until it’s done. Lol. Like I’ve done but it’s so worth the loss of sleep.

I absolutely love this series. Since book 1, I've become invested in this family and their journey to their HEA. The dogs continually steal my heart in every book. This time it was Stella and Kooki. Darcy and Josh really complimented each other. I loved watching them find their way in this story. I love this book because it is full of family, love and a little mystery tossed in.

Whenever I read a book in the Dogfather Series, I think it is my favorite. Then a new book is released and that one becomes my favorite! I love the Dogfather Series! Great stories like all of her other series. Double Dog Dare is fantastic, I could not put it down. The characters come to life as Roxanne develops them. You feel like you are there watching the story unfold as you read every page. Can't wait to read the next one, the Xmas Novella and the Dogfather's story. Thank you Roxanne!

Roxanne knows how to talk about Dogs and bring people together. Darcy being the baby wants to be "free" of her family but not get rid of them Totally understandable...what an adventure that she didn't bargain for The only problem with this book is that I finished it too fast. Roxanne so knows how to write a book to keep you reading. I can't wait for the next one. Thank you Roxy!!!

I love the Dogfather series of books by Roxanne St. Claire. Double Dog Dare is her latest and it is as good as all the others. Daniel Kilcannon has the gift of picking out mates for his children. This story revolves around Darcy (just happens to also be the name of my new puppy) and Josh, a guy who just got out of a bad relationship. Neither of them are looking for love and Daniel swears he was not trying to match make when he suggested Darcy move into a newly renovated apartment in town owned by Josh. This series always has a dog in the picture/storyline and Double Dog Dare has plenty of dogs. I learned a lot about an illness that dogs are susceptible to and how to treat it. And by the end of the book, I was very touched by the ending. Definitely am looking forward to the next in the series.

Sweetly sexy, emotionally engaging and laugh out loud fun romantic journey filled with witty banter, fun family, loyal friends and undeniable passion.... They may not be looking for love but never underestimate the Dogfather's matchmaking skills. Darcy Kilcannon is the youngest and last single Kilcannon standing.... she is sweet, funny, sexy and determined to liver her life her way. Joshua Ranier is sexy, smart and looking to escape his overbearing stepfamily. Concentrating on his construction business and rental property he has no time or need for love.... or does he? Loved this highly entertaining romantic adventure.

Roxanne St. Claire has written another winner in the Dogfather series. I don’t know how she makes each of her books better than the last one! Josh Ranier is reeling from having discovered his girlfriend was cheating on him with his “evil” stepbrother. He’s sworn off love. Darcy Kilcannon isn’t looking for love. Rather, she desperately wants to find some place of her own and be independent. What a perfect setup for a wonderful love story! The Kilcannon family is wonderful, as always. Ms. St. Claire has a way of making each family member so real that you want to be one of Daniel Kilcannon’s sons or daughters – or at least an in-law! Josh’s family seems to be the complete opposite. Of course, there are dogs in the story that contribute a lot to the plot and make you fall in love with each of them. I couldn’t put this book down. Darcy has a bubbly optimistic disposition and has no trouble finding the good in everyone and every situation. From the beginning, it’s clear she wants to be on her own, and being friends with Josh is more than enough for her….although the sexual chemistry between the two sizzles from when they first meet….and is denied by both of them! They draw together to help Josh’s unexpected dog, Stella (no spoilers here) and discover that love is nothing to be afraid of. There are several twists (almost in the suspense genre that St. Clare does so well) that add depth to the story and make the pairing of Josh and Darcy even more inevitable. I feel like I would recognize Josh or Darcy if I met them on the street and I want to go to Bitter Bark, North Carolina just to see the plaza, the stores, and meet the Kilcannon family! A book where the author can make the characters and setting seem so real is definitely a good read and well worth your time!

I am so glad this isn't the last story in this series. Each book makes me fall more in love with the Kilcannon family. Darcy is the youngest and she sees all her siblings getting their happy ever after and all she can think of is her own freedom. She wants to live on her own and doesn't want anyone to tie her down. Her dad isn't really ready to let her go, but he knows she has to stand on her own two feet. She moves into a building that says she can't have her dog. Must be a grumpy old landlord. Josh is far from a grumpy old landlord. He is a big, sexy man and she is going to have a hard time staying away from him. Josh loves dogs, but there is going to be some construction going on and he can't have a pet running around because they might get hurt. He is a by the rules kind of person. Darcy isn't. When Josh's ex shows up with her little, blind dog and needs Josh to take care of her for a while, he can't turn little Stella away. And then he has to allow Darcy to have her dog. Josh was very hurt by his ex and he doesn't want to get tangled up with anyone ever, but he sure has a hard time resisting Darcy. She just might change his mind about a lot of things.

Ms. St. Claire has officially gone to the a way that will melt your heart. The only thing as good as her human characters is her canine characters! This is about the last child of the Dogfather, who is notorious for his skill with dogs as well as his skill at finding love matches for his children. Only Darcy has no intention of going down without a fight. She's moving out, starting her own business and becoming as independent as she can. Then she meets Hot Landlord and she starts to wonder if independence is everything she thought it would be. St. Claire finds just the right balance in Darcy and Josh. Neither wants a relationship, yet when they join together to fight for a life changing experimental procedure for a blind dog, they gracefully give in to their hearts. It might not be what they had planned, but somethings just can't be fought! This is another delightful Dogfather book that warms the heart and soul. It's not all warmth and heartstrings, though. Double Dog Dare has a dysfunctional family, mystery and drama enough to keep you turning those pages. And dogs. You can't go wrong with the dogs
