About the Author

Michael Kodas wrote the New Hampshire hikes here. He has hiked over 700 AT miles in 9 states. A photojournalist at the Hartford Courant (Connecticut) in 1995 Kodas participated in Appalachian Adventure, a 5-newspaper relay hike of the entire AT. He has walked and climbed in the western U.S., the Pyrenees, and New Zealand, and has circumnavigated Long Island Sound by sea kayak.

Andrew Weegar is a freelance writer, specializing in natural history and hiking. He lives in North Bridgton, Maine.

Glenn Scherer wrote the 100 Mile Wilderness hikes in Maine. A Vermont Long Trail thru hiker, he has hiked the AT in Maryland, New Jersey, and New York, and is co-author of Hikes in the Mid-Atlantic States in this series. Scherer wroteNature Walks in New Jersey and lives in Highland Lakes, New Jersey.

Mark Condon, is an outdoor recreation writer who has hiked sections of the AT in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine; he has also hiked extensively in the Rockies and the Alps. Condon is editor of Habitat, Maine Audubon's magazine. He lives in Bangor, Maine.
