Born in Belgium in 1953 and migrated to Australia in 1978. I have taught at secondary schools in Belgium and Australia and lectured in Dutch language and literature at the University of Melbourne. From 1988 until 2012 I worked as a policy adviser and project manager for the Victorian Government, contributing to major reform initiatives in child protection and public mental health services. Since 2012 I have been working as an independent writer and consultant. I am currently finalising "Resilience", a novel set in Melbourne against the backdrop of the Black Saturday bushfires. The draft blurb: "A Buddhist who wears leather and plays violent computer games. A social worker who likes to have everything neat and tidy. Kurt Edelman is full of contradictions. The year: 2009. As Victoria burns, Kurt is facing disasters of his own, that will rock him to the core of his being."
