Anyone that has heard of Danny Gokey, knows of the unexpected loss of his wife, Sophia. It is a compelling one and it and his big voice captured millions of fans on American Idol. In his book, Danny walks us through his normal life --as a kid growing up in a big family in Milwaukee. But the real story is the hope he found in his “darkest times” and how he tries to share that lesson with the reader. We join him through the gloomy days of dealing with his pain, the exhilarating days of finding hope on the big stage of American Idol, and the seemingly miracles he found awaiting him afterwards. Danny’s ability to let go of his anger at God over his loss, embrace a chance at a music career, a charitable foundation, and the start of a new family is a lesson for all of us. Hope can bring us to a new life. If we are willing to let go and let hope take us forward.

A MUST READ FOR RENEWED HOPE Hope In Front of Me is a great encouragement for anyone who is grieving, stuck in grief, and would be a good complement to a Griefshare class. With each chapter, Danny walks us through his grief over losing his Sophia. He never gave up on hope even though he could have done so. Instead he kept moving forward; finding a new purpose in Sophia's Heart Foundation (SHF) by helping others. Danny shares his heart of faith and hope to encourage all of us to be ever mindful that there is always hope in front of us. Blessings, Sharon - Omaha.
