Overview

We met Jodi in Hungry Moon-Destiny and now she is all grown up and her powers are all emerging. There are reasons that she will need every ounce of magic she owns.
An old threat, one the team thought destroyed has entered her world at Cravenwold Academy where she is no longer the student but the teacher.
With this threat she discovers that once again, she is part of a prophecy she wants nothing to do with.
Shane is a hybrid, but she can't figure out just exactly what kind of hybrid. She is immediately drawn to him. His warm golden eyes fascinate her into looking one moment too long at him. Sexy hot, he is everything she could ever want in a man. He is tall, muscular, with thick layers of dark blonde hair framing a handsome face that nearly always sports a cocky grin.
He is, however not very forthcoming with her about himself which sets her back. Jodi isn't sure she can trust him.
Danger, adventure and the promise of a torturous death awaits in the wings and Jodi, while determined to save her loved ones, isn't sure she will survive. Hungry Moon-Jodi
Dark but not gloomy it stood proud and old
Radiating power, noble, in its fold.
Soaring with magic in its untapped grotto.
Protect and shield was Cravenwold's motto.
Humans ne'er see or hear and if they do, they soon forgot,
What was there and what was not.
Anonymous student in 1206

(Outside of Dublin, Ireland, deep in the woods was the village of Cravenwold and its Academy for witches and warlocks.)

CONCERNED THAT SHE was too late, Jodi picked up her pace as she weaved through the dark woods. Her wand, which was made from a Rowan tree, stuck out of her back pocket. She reached for it and held it tightly in her grasp. She was headed for trouble. Every fiber of her being told her that.
Her pink-streaked platinum colored hair blew across her face as an unexpected wind picked up. The wind held elements of magic--dark magic. That was bad, so bad.
A sudden pelting of harsh rain hit her face. Something wanted to keep her away. Well, that was good--right? If it didn't want her there, then it must have thought she was powerful enough to worry about. She trudged on.
She put out her hands and steadied herself against a tall pine, as she avoided tripping over roots and small bushes. She pointed her wand and softly said, "Ease my path."
Slowly, a footpath appeared. It was clear of all obstacles. Jodi smiled, she was pleased with herself. Something was going down and she had to get there and stop it before...before anyone else died.
This time, it wasn't a vision that brought her here. This time, it was pure instinct. A gut feeling based on what she already knew. A ritual killer was on the loose and he was targeting the Academy. It was going to happen again tonight, she was sure of it.
Her body tensed when a wave of dark magic, carried by a wet wind rose up and slapped at her face. Dark power pulsed through the trees. The entity was strong, so strong, yet invisible even to her trained and skilled eye sight.
She stopped and stepped off the path that she had cleared. She thought she saw movement in the thick brush.
Prickly vines caught her ankles. Something had guided them as they wrapped around her and tried to pull her down.
She fought the vines as they dug in and swirled around her. The entity was intent on stopping her. She remembered her wand and said out loud, "Really?" She pointed it at the vines and they fell limp around her.
How had it known she was there? How close was it?
Suddenly roots tore free from the earth and grabbed her ankles. This time when she pointed her wand, it didn't set her free.
The entity had learned her spell and was prepared for it.
She sneered and said, "Think I have only one bag of tricks?"
