When ex Marine Travis Sanchez left the military, he got a job working for Red Stone Security in Miami. After finishing a gig, which was so bad that the owner of Red Stone fired the client, Travis has been ordered to take a vacation. With nothing to do, he heads toward his favorite coffee shop, owned by Noel Baskov, a women that Travis has been eyeing, but had not gotten the nerve to ask out on a date, mostly because he is out of town so much. When he gets to the shop, he finds her on the phone talking to a young girl, who she mentors and who seems to be in trouble. With possible danger lurking, Travis insists on riding shotgun, and ends up killing an abusive ex boyfriend and possible pedophile. But the danger does not end there, and since he is on vacation, Travis makes himself available to Noel, trying to move slow, but too slow for Noel. The author weaves both of their pasts into the narrative as they get to know each other, skillfully developing the characters. This is a fast moving, action-packed story in addition to a steamy romance. I received a free, advanced copy of this book from the This is my unbiased and voluntary review. I have not read all the books in the series, and it could be read as a stand alone, but I was left confused about the timing, since the couple from #8, appear in the epilogue in this #4 book, not only together, but pregnant.

I really enjoyed this little story that had a bit of danger and suspense as well as plenty of swoony hero goodness. I realized a long time ago that this author tends to do heroes just the way I like them and I’ve yet to be disappointed in one. The fact that Travis and Noel have known each other for about a year and that they’ve slowly been getting to know each better keeps this novella from feeling rushed in the relationship department. They have both been celibate for quite a while and Travis has only been with women he has a relationship with. That in itself is a great little Christmas treat! Add in the touch of danger that helps to showcase the protectiveness Travis feels, a piercing that only escalates the steam factor between these two, and a heroine strong enough to stand beside the hero and you’re set to go.

Noel Baskov, owner of a Miami coffee shop, has been mentoring a young girl named Juanita. When Juanita calls her and is afraid for her mother who is being accosted by her boyfriend, Noel rushes out of her shop and in to the arms of Travis Sanchez. Travis is a former Marine and now works for Red Stone Security. He has just completed an assignment and was on his way to Noel’s shop. He has been attracted to Noel and knows that she is out of his league, but that doesn’t keep him from wanting to see her…talk to her. He realizes that she is upset and when she explains, he volunteers to go with her. Noel has been attracted to him as well and accepts his help with Juanita. Their relationship will progress quickly as they realize their attraction is mutual and Travis will be there for her when his actions put her in danger. A thoroughly entertaining and HOT novella by Ms. Reus. This is part of the Red Stone Security series that is a must read and must-read series. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Series: Red Stone Security #4 Travis might look intimidating and tough with his tattoos and piercings, but when it comes to asking out bakery owner, Noel, he’s just as nervous as the next guy. When he finds Noel about to head into a dangerous situation to check on a young girl she mentors, Travis insists on coming along to keep Noel safe. Things go sideways when Travis must use deadly force to protect Noel and her friends. He doesn’t regret keeping her safe but he’s worried how Noel will react to the realities of his job. Even worse, someone is now looking for revenge and Noel and Travis are the targets. I’m been looking forward to Travis’s book from the first moment we met him and I was not disappointed! I was only sad that his trademark mohawk was gone and he’s sporting a buzz cut in this book. After a tough assignment, Travis has some “forced” vacation and he’s determined to use the time to finally ask out Noel. He’s been going to her bakery for months and he’s out of his mind attracted to her, but he’s also nervous. I loved the contradiction of Travis’s tough, protector side with his sweet, gentle approach to relationships. In fact, Travis hasn’t been with anyone is almost a year because he’s very much about relationships and doesn’t do casual hookups. But his attraction to Noel tests him at every turn, because he’s never been this hung up on a woman before. Noel herself has noticed Travis but his quiet nature has her unsure if he’s interested. Not to mention long absences when he’s on an assignment have prevented her from figuring things out. Noel was the perfect heroine for Travis because she’s compassionate, easy going, and so incredibly caring. Travis can take care of Noel, but in many ways Noel can also take care of Travis — it creates a really nice give and take between them. These two are so cute together but they’re also so so sexy! The chemistry was off the charts and I loved the flirting and byplay as they worked up to sleeping together. Noel is beyond distracted by Travis’s tattoos and he gets her all flustered with some hints at his other piercing (if you know what I mean). Outside Travis and Noel’s relationship, there was also some great action and suspense as our bad guy targets Travis and Noel for revenge. I love stories with a protective character that makes themselves the bodyguard of the person they’re interested in. It says a lot about a person that they’re willing to put themselves in danger to protect another person. I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait for more!

Title: Miami, Mistletoe & Murder - Red Stone Security Book 4 Author: Katie Reus Publisher: CrushStar Multimedia LLC Published: 11-1-2013 Pages: 148 Genre: Romance Sub-Genre: Romantic Suspense; Holiday; Military ISBN: 9780988617124 ASIN: B009ZNM7ZY Reviewed For NetGalley and CrushStar Multimedia LLC Reviewer: DelAnne Rating: 4.5 Stars A sexy holiday NOVELLA! Fierce and sexy, former Marine Travis Sanchez has always held himself back from the rest of the world, using his tattoos and piercings as armor. But when the woman he’s wanted for months is threatened, he knows it's time to strip away the bad boy image and show her just how much he wants to be with her. As one of Red Stone Security’s best contractors, Travis is trained for almost any situation. But nothing prepares him for the most dangerous threat of all: the one to his heart. Kind-hearted Noel Baskov’s only wish for the holidays is that her Miami coffee shop has a successful Christmas season. But her focus on work is interrupted when the family of the young girl she mentors is threatened, and the man she’s been lusting after for months steps in to handle it. Unfortunately the danger is far from over. Can this sexy and mysterious warrior protect Noel or will he be the one to shatter her heart? A pleasant short read that can easily be read in a single sitting. Although theis is the fourth offerring in the series It can easily be read as a stand alone novella. Travis Sanchez is the type of person who feels that vacations are more punishment than pleasure. His one bright spot is Noel, owner of the local coffee shop. Fiercely loyal and protective of family and those she considers friends. Interesting characters and and a well planed plot. Enjoy! My rating of "Miami, Mistletoe & Murder - Red Stone Security Book 4" is out of 5 stars.

Former Marine Travis Sanchez is a trusted member of the Red Stone Security team. As a former marine, he's good at his job, but outside of work he keeps to himself until he meets coffee shop owner Noel. He wants to know her better. Suddenly she's in danger as she rushes to protect a single mother and her young daughter. Travis has to use deadly force. Now he and Noel are being stalked. Travis will not let anyone harm her. Can their new love survive? Travis is all power and raw hunger except with Noel. When he's with her he's gentle and protective. Noel is attracted to him and wants him in her life. I loved their passionate bond. Miami and the holiday setting provide the perfect backdrop for this emotional adventure. Katie Reus gives us an action packed yet romantic story. I love the Red Stone Security series. Miami, Mistletoe and Murder is another great addition. I enjoy reading about Harrison, Lizzy and the rest of the team.

REVIEW  I just love how versatile Katie Reus's writing is she goes from Sexy Hero's to Paranormal Hotties.  In this book we have Travis Sanchez who is just finishing up a long term assignment for Red Stone Security. Traviz is an ex-marine with tats and peircings and although he looks a bit rough the man has a heart of gold when it comes to those he loves. He stops in at his favorite coffee shop which is owned by a woman he has  wanted to ask out for some time her name is Noel Baskov. Just as they are walking out the door of the coffee shop Noel gets a call. She is needed for a domestic issue and makes her leave. However Travez is not letting her go on her own. This may not be his idea of a great first date but he wants to be there with Nicole.  Will Travez finally get the woman he has wanted for a long time? Will Noel allow Travez into her life? My rating: 4.5 of 5 ¿¿ Having just finalized a long term assignment for Red Stone Security, Travis Sanchez decides to start his week's vacation by stopping in at his favorite coffee shop to do something he has been working up the courage to do for months. The rough looking, pierced and tattooed ex-marine enjoys chatting with the sweet owner but so far hasn't been in a position to ask her out yet. That is about to change. When Noel Baskov walks out the door of her shop she walks straight in to the man she has been ogling for months. Just then she is called by her "little sister" from the Big Sister program she is involved in, and needs to rush off to help out with a domestic emergency, but Travis is not about to let her go off on her own. A good thing, because the situation they encounter when they arrive is not something she could have handled by herself. Not quite the way Travis had envisioned a 'first date' unfolding, but it does allow him opportunity to check in on her, especially when it appears Noel may not be safe. Being in close quarters together quickly heats up and before long the sparks are flying. Danger is never far however and staying alive will take their focus off other matters..... **** As always, Katie Reus has you spell-bound and hot & bothered in no time flat!!! A short but explosive read and well worth it!! Technically it is the fourth story in the Red Stone Security Series, but quite comfortably stands by itself as a single read. Although, if I were you, I'd pick up the other books too, because they are just that good!!! Katie doesn't mess around with big introductory chapters, but gets right down to the nitty gritty, so you are immediately dunked into the story. I love that! You won't miss out either, because in between the description of what is occurring now, you get enough background to get the proper context.  Same thing when it comes to her character descriptions. She doesn't spend entire pages describing a person all at once, but gives you snippets so that within a short span of time you have a full impression of the character without feeling you have just read a report on someone. Another quality I am grateful for!  That is how we learn that Travis is definitely not a womanizer, in fact, he would be better described as a loner,. In part due to his job, in part because he looks for quality, not quantity. He has some baggage, but finds himself sharing it quite easily with the right person.....Noel. Who on the surface might seem like the opposite of Travis, sweet, soft, gentle. But in fact has a core of steel and is very protective herself, which is something that Travis comes to discover.  ¿High octane, red-hot, quick read!!¿ **ARC provided in return for an honest review.**

Miami, Mistletoe, & Murder is a red HOT holiday novella by Katie ReusWhether Katie Reus is writing paranormal or romantic suspense novels, you know that you have picked a winner when you choose one of her books. Right now for the holidays, she's re-releasing the fourth book, the novella Miami, Mistletoe & Murder, from her Red Stone Security series. This is a red HOT holiday read that I highly recommend. Tatooed and pierced alpha hero Travis Sanchez caught my interest in the earlier books, so I was really glad to see that he is featured in this novella. In the first few pages of the story I know I was happy to see that he was finally asking his long-time crush, coffee shop owner Noel out on a date. But the twist Reus throws in next really starts the adrenaline ball rolling with Travis stepping up to protect Noel and her "little" sister charge from harm. After that the action is non-stop as they are stalked by someone who seems to have it in both for Travis and for Noel. Is there hope for them? It's Christmas, so hopefully all wishes will come true. If you haven't already read Reus' Red Stone Security series, this is a great way to sample it. If you have already read some, do add this book to your library and check out the other seven books in the series: Red Stone Security Series Box Set: Volume 1 (includes No One to Trust, Danger Next Door, & Fatal Deception), Red Stone Security Series Box Set: Volume 2 (includes Miami, Mistletoe, & Murder, His to Protect, Breaking Her Rules), and Protecting His Witness (book 7). These would make the perfect holiday gift for the romantic suspense fan on your Christmas list. I received an eARC from the publisher through NetGalley for use in this review.

NUMBER OF HEARTS:  4  REVIEW:  This was a really quick read, only about 87 pages.  Since this was a novella I won’t give too much away but Travis & Noel are about to stumble into a situation that would put strain any relationship let alone a new relationship.  I loved Travis and Noel.  These two were a fun couple to read about.   If you have loved any of Katie’s other Red Stone Security stories you will love Miami, Mistletoe & Murder.  Disclaimer:  I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley & CrushStar Multimedia LLC in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

Former Marine and Red Stone Security specialist, Travis Sanchez has been forced into taking a one week paid vacation after finishing a case with a very difficult client. He’s unsure how to spend his time off but what he is sure of is seeing the object of his affections before her coffee shop closes for the day.  As Travis and Noel literally run into each other, Travis notices immediately that something is wrong. Noel’s distraught after finding out her fourteen-year-old mentee is in trouble. Travis will not let Noel go into a dangerous situation alone and quickly leaves with Noel to rescue the girl.  As they arrive at the girl’s home, Travis finds the girl’s mother being held hostage inside the house. Travis’s military training kicks in and he efficiently resolves the situation. The girl and her mom are safe and the dangerous situation is over, or is it? Someone is out for vengeance and Travis is the target.  This was my first Red Stone Security series read and I really enjoyed it. My favorite part about the story is that Travis, the hero, is not a ladies man like we see in many books. He’s only intimate with women he’s in a relationship with and that’s only been twice. I love how respectful he was and loved his sense of honor. Travis and Noel are beautifully paired and I enjoyed watching their mutual interest evolve into something more permanent. Great romance read! ***I received an ebook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***

Travis and Noel have been friends? for over a year. He goes to her coffee shop whenever he is in town. Working for Red Stone security Travis must travel quite a bit. They strike up more then friendship in this book because of a bad guy that tries to Kill Travis. Must read to find out what happens. I did enjoy this book,

## Just ok. Really too short for the characters to be developed to their full potential. I liked Travis and Noel both, but there wasn't really any conflict. They were in love right from the beginning, so I didn't feel any climax to the story. Can't really recommend.
