I really enjoyed this book. Excellent murder mystery and loved the settings both at the Smithsonian, London and Scotland. Woman comes to Washington DC after her fiance is murdered at the Smithsonian. Detective investigating the case has to deal with political interference and museum snobbery while juggling his relationship with ex-wife.

This is my first Margaret Truman, and I have to say it was very good. A man is murdered at a gala at the Smithsonian, and his fiance shows up in DC to find out who dun it! The police don't seem to be able to pin things down, and at the same time, there's a kook who claims to be the heir to Smithson, and he want's everything given to him, or he'll start bombing. There are all kinds of suspects, and the book gives you a run for your money.

Was disappointed in the book after reading rave reviews. This is the first book I have read by Margaret Truman so maybe I am not doing her justice but I did not really care for this one. About the only bright spot was the Captain in charge of the investigation. There were to many people, to many murders in to many places. I stayed lost a big part of the time. That could have been my problem but at least I was lost. Doubt I read another one.
