I am at a lost on how many stars to give this, the humor in this book is outstanding. I totally loved this story the author gives so much to each character. It is a very fast pace read with some wonderful writing I doubt you could read this and not laugh. I laughed my way through this from the first page almost to the last. This trio get into some might fine messes you wonder how they can have such bad luck but at the same time good luck. The author gives you strong men and women who do not give up and won’t any crap from anyone. This is a wonderful clean read filled with story which keeps you guessing as the author gives us a tale of mystery, sorrow and some pain. The characters you will fall in love with, wonderful characters that will keep you in stitches. Anne-Marie is a lovely woman who turns lives on end but for a good cause. A thief, con artist, sassy, bullheaded, giving, caring, loving, swindler, sneaky and a whole lot more. The plans this women comes up with will make you roll your eyes and keep right on laughing. Dressed as a nun and caught in the act, hulled away to jail when the wagon is under attack one man comes to her to save the day and her life. This is where things get messy and very interesting…..the author takes you on one humorous ride after another as this lady stirs up a mess of trouble. Creed is one hot number a little on the alpha side he puts his heart and soul into what he believes in. He is every woman’s dream. He just can’t walk away from the nuns who need his help. By the time she gets him into the first spot of trouble he sure wishes he would have left her where he found her. This women can talk an ear off a donkey and never breathe. His life will never be the same…. It does seem like they get out of one mess and before you know it she has them in another. I have to say she is a pretty witty woman who sure can dream up some plans. You will be surprised what this lady can do and the mess she makes. I really enjoyed this story and thought the author did a wonderful job with keeping your attention and making this a page turner. There’s a lot of action and it is fast moving, however I did find a few things hard to believe but it did make a wonderful story. The humor alone makes this a 5 star read but with the parts that I can’t believe happen I have to give it a 4.5 star. The words flow easy, the plot is outstanding, the humor is out of this world, and her writing style is great. This is the first time I have read anything by this author…… I really loved this story and plan to read more of this authors work.

I swear I heard music as I read this book. You know, like one of those western movies made in the 70s with beautiful characters, lots of action and comedy thrown in. A bit cheesy, but a really good story – very entertaining. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Harvest House Publishers and the Netgalley book review bloggers program. Wow! What an adventure! Come along for a ride. The three McDougal sisters are captured, they are in a jail wagon when they are attacked by Indians. Three men, three ladies....rescued and now pulled apart. In this story, Abigail is rescued by a Crow Indian. Read Abigail's story. Will she fall in love, will she be reunited with her sisters? I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Lori Copeland in her new book, “My Heart Stood Still” Book Two in the Sisters of Mercy Flats series published by Harvest House Publishers takes us into the life of Anne-Marie McDougal. From the Back Cover: “God had planted Creed Walker in her life…and He wouldn’t let her lose him.” The three wily and beautiful McDougal sisters can swindle a man faster than it takes to lasso a calf. But their luck is running out, and they’re about to be hauled off to jail. When the wagon carrying them falls under attack, each sister is picked up by a different man. Anne-Marie, the middle sister, is saved by Creed Walker, a Crow warrior. It’s loathing at first sight, but with bandits on their tail and a cache of gold to hide, Creed and Anne-Marie need each other. Will they learn to put aside their differences and trust each other–and God? And can their growing faith turn their lives around? This is book two in the series however the good news is that you can read this story apart from the other two and it will be okay. However I do recommend that you read the other two just for the sheer enjoyment of them. Three sisters, who are con artists, are finally arrested and in a prison wagon dressed as nuns when the wagon is attacked by Indians. At the sound of the attack three men gallop to the rescue and each man takes a different sister. This time the focus is on Anne-Marie. Seems her rescuer, Creed, is the strong silent type. When they do go to a town they are imprisoned and sentenced to be hung at dawn. They do escape but with the gold. There is adventure after adventure that will keep you flipping pages trying to find out what happens next and why. Historical fiction that takes place during The Civil War. And did I mention that this is a romance? I enjoyed this book a lot and am looking forward to the next book in this series. I enjoyed this book and want to read the other two books of this series. This is the second book of Sisters of Mercy Flats. It is a clean Christian , romance, western, and historical all in one. Anne-Marie is the middle sister of three orphans that never plan to marry. They were raised in an orphanage in Texas. The three sisters con money from rich people and give to the sisters. They have been lucky up till now. They were in the back of a prison wagon being chased by Comanches dressed as Nuns. Each sister was taken off by three different men riding off in three different directions. Ann-Marie was on a horse riding double with a Indian rescuer. Who did not speak English. She is cold and worried about her sisters if they got away or not. Creed Walker is a Crow warrior. He has a lot of secrets. He plans to drop her off at nearest town. He is surprised when he finds out she is not a Nun. The setting is the last year of the Civil War in the West. There is so much danger, action, gold, chases with horses. You never know what will happen next. As they try and finish their goals. It is a good fun clean story. I would read more books from Lori Copeland in the future. I was given this ebook to read by Net Galley and Harvest House Publishers. In return I agreed to give a honest review of My Heart Stood Still.

*This is a reprint of a series first published back in the early 90's Book two opens with the 3 sisters being saved by 3 different men once again. This time Anne-Marie’s saved by an Indian. All she wants is to find her sisters and all he wants is to finish his mission. Oil and water do not play well together. Creed needs to finish his orders and having a woman tagging along does not help. The more he is with her the more he starts to care yet he’s been promised to another many years ago. Can he keep his word or will he follow his heart? What I liked: Anne-Marie finds herself saved by an Indian who she soon finds out is more complicated than he first let on. She just wants to get back to her sisters but finds herself stuck tagging along with Creed and his sidekick. I really enjoyed how Anne-Marie and Creed interacted. The plot of this book was good. I enjoyed the suspense of how they were going to get out of the tribes camp without being noticed. I found that An¿ne-Marie was not wanting to listen to Creed and doing her own thing which, of course, got her in trouble is a lot like us when we don’t listen to God. We find our self in trouble and remorseful and just when we think we are out of options God will help us find our way. This may not be without consequences, but he never leaves us. What I didn’t like: I really can’t find much to not like about this book. Overall this was an enjoyable book. The characters were well-developed. I though the humor was well threaded into the book. I have enjoyed the series so far and look forward to the last book. Even though this is a series book it can easily be read as a stand alone.

I love and enjoyed reading My Heart Stood Still. Lori Copeland took three untraditional main characters , joined them together in this storyline and wrote a fabulous book to read. I was fascinated from the beginning and this book has drama, adventure, humor and romance. The plot is different from other books I've read, but it's so captivating. I highly recommend reading My Heart Stood Still by Lori Copeland. It's Book Two in Sisters of Mercy Flats series, but I believe you can read it as a stand alone book. I haven't read Book One in this series, but I will read it and if it's as good as Book Two, you may want to read it first. I'm looking forward to the next book. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.
