Having read several other books by Melanie Moreland I couldn’t wait to read this book and I was not disappointed in any way. Melanie Moreland sucked me into the story from the first page. I kept thinking just one more chapter and I couldn't put it down until I had finished. I Love the characters of Adam and Alexandra .Ms. Moreland weaves a story so well that was immediately immersed in her writing. Not only does she write strong main characters but I have also found that the secondary characters are also given their chance to shine and in My Image Of You this is the case. This is a story full of love, romance, angst and humor. Ms. Moreland writes strong characters with depth and Adam and Alex are no exceptions. I loved the strength and determination that Alex had and Adam, whilst not a true Alpha, has the soul of a determined and caring man. I will say I was not a particular fan of Alex’s mother and step-father who continuously tried to run her life. My Image of You was an emotional story full of romance and love and will certainly draw you in.

Once again Melanie Moreland enchants me with her words. She has one voice in contemporary romance that is not to be missed. My Image of You cocoons you tightly in their world that you never want to leave. Adam and Alex are beautifully complex characters that are delivered to the reader with equal parts of lust, humor, tenderness and love. Adam is what I would refer to as an understated alpha. His persona is charming and captivating. He has a job that would make any adrenaline junkie jealous. And he passes that passion onto those he loves with evenly matched ferocity. As a reader, you can't help but feel as deeply as he does throughout the story. Alex is a gorgeously written heroine who waters run deep. She has an inner strength that shines brighter as the story progresses. Although her glow may dim at times, it's finding that one that helps you glimmers all the time. With Adam, her character doesn't just twinkles but radiates. You don't feel sympathy, but empathy for this endearing heroine. You WANT her to have her HEA. I would be remiss without mentioning the secondary characters. Ms Moreland never writes these characters as someone to move the story along . They are as necessary as the main characters need air to breathe. Elena again is one character I wish I knew in real life. She leaps off the page and into your heart. If you are familiar with Melanie Moreland's writing, My Image of You is right up there with The Contract and Beneath The Scars as favorites of mine. If you are not, you will not be disappointed with this bewitching story. 5 out of 5 stars

Adam is injured when he falls while taking a risky shot with his camera. Despite his injury, he manages to spend the night in the hospital getting to know his attractive nurse better. Ally has some pretty heavy baggage she’s carried all of her life but her time with Adam lightens the load and helps her to see she is worthy of happiness and love. Together this couple face some extreme conflicts that tore my heart in two. While I really enjoyed this book, so much of it is the author telling me about what happened instead of allowing me the opportunity to experience it. It was well written and didn’t get bogged down but there were times I just wanted to be able to walk in the characters shoes. There is plenty of light hearted humor and this couple have great chemistry together. Secondary characters don’t really shine too much but seem to be just a way to progress the story along without allowing the reader to connect with them in any way. The villains are certainly villainous and I totally understood why Ally struggled in the way she did, so those particular characters I must admit were well written. Overall, this was a very nice read by an author I would gladly read again. I was provided this advanced copy and this is my honest review. Mostly the heroes POV although there is a few from the heroine Safe Possible trigger if you are sensitive to emotional neglect/abuse

*3.5* After reading Melanie Moreland's The Contract and The Baby Clause back in August, I've been dying to read another book by her. So when I learned about My Image of You, her new book for Fall 2017, I eagerly added it to my wish list and began the countdown to its release date. As it turns out, My Image of You was compelling, romantic, and fast paced, and while I didn't love Adam and Alexandra's adventures nearly as much as I loved Katharine and Richard's adventures (they're an incredibly hard act to beat, what can I say), My Image of You was still a solid romance read. My Image of You is primarily told in Adam's POV. I really enjoyed getting to know him through his chapters. He was kind as well as caring, but I especially loved the touch of danger and recklessness he had to him. I find the job of a freelance photographer - especially one who focus on natural disasters and tragedy - so incredibly intriguing. Therefore, I loved that his job was such a big part of the book. I also found his conflict between pursing his passions by going to these remote and dangerous locations and becoming a family man and staying closer to safe and known areas realistic as well as slightly suspenseful. It's a hard choice to make, in my opinion, and I thought Melanie did a great job of presenting Adam's back-and-forth on the issue as well as presenting it in a way that perfectly intertwined it into the overall picture of Adam and Alexandra's relationship. Now, on to Alexandra. I have to admit: I could not connect to her. I think this was largely due to the fact that so little of the book was told in her POV. I feel like knowing her thoughts would not have only made her actions more understandable but also would've added that depth to her character that I craved. However, I did like her and root for her just the same. She was a girl who always received the short stick in life, and there was nothing I wanted more for her then for her to find the home and family she deserved. The plot in My Image of You is split between two time periods: Alexandra and Adam's romance until they're torn apart and then Adam's journey to win Alexandra back. I thought Melanie did a great job of fleshing out both sides of the story. Adam and Alexandra's relationship was well developed and likable so much in fact that I could almost forgive the insta-love feeing that came with it at times. I also liked the feeling of suspense that the middle of the book brought, as you know that Alexandra and Adam are not together when the book starts but you don't know why exactly. It was exciting to try to guess what exactly had happened, and the end result was certainly something I didn't see coming! In all, My Image of You is perfect read for a weekend. I honestly think I would've liked it better if I had not read The Contract first (has that ever happened to you all with books?); however, I still throughly enjoyed. I can't wait to see what Melanie comes up with next! Grade: B

Oh, did I ever love this book!! This was a book that as soon as I finished the last page I wanted to go right back to the start and read it all over again!! Adam is a photographer who is constantly traveling all over the world looking for the best shot. During a trip to the Emergency Room he falls hard for his own bright and spunky Florence Nightingale. “I only met you a couple days ago, Ally, but I’ve been waiting for you all my life. Waiting for you to find me.” Melanie Moreland's writing flows effortlessly and I didn't even realize how deeply I was being drawn into this story. It wasn't long before I had completely fallen in love with some of the characters. (Plus there were a few characters that I can't even think about without a bit of hate bubbling up.) "Thank you for staying beside me.” “There isn’t anywhere else I want to be.” He paused. “Are you up for this? We’ll leave soon.” I drew in a deep breath. “I have to be. With you there I can be brave and do this.” “You are brave. You always have been.” My Image Of You is a beautifully sweet, steamy and emotional romance. It has some twists that caught me by surprise and kept me guessing and really rooting for Adam and Alex to get their Happily Ever After.

I LOVE this book so much! I loved every second I spent reading it. I lost track of time while reading. I read way past my bedtime (not really a surprise with a Melanie Moreland novel) and I didn’t mind it at all that I was tired the next day. I had to know how this book ended. I couldn’t put it down. My Image of You is one of my favorite books this year! I always feel for this author’s main characters. They are (a little) damaged, but they are also strong, smart and passionate. I always root for the characters to be together. They deserve all the happiness, love and the happily ever after they get in the end. It wasn’t any different with Adam and Ally. Adam is just amazing and perfect! He’s caring, sweet, strong, loving, protective and passionate. He loves being a photographer and he couldn’t jump on a plane fast enough when his phone rang for an assignment, but his priorities will change after meeting Ally. Adam is perfect for Ally! He’s exactly what she needs. He would do everything for her and he looks forward to being with her forever. Ally is friendly, caring, insecure and smart. She loves being a nurse and she works a lot. Ally doesn’t have an easy home situation. I hated her mother so much! I wished Ally didn’t do so much for her mother, but I also understood Ally. Ally becomes stronger and stronger, and Adam helped her. I loved the way Ally and Adam met and how easily they connected. There was banter and an instant attraction. It didn’t take long before they were inseparable. They fell hard for each other. Ally and Adam are a beautiful, perfect and strong couple. The epilogue was beautiful. The author never writes many secondary characters, but I always love them. I absolutely adored Elena in this book. She’s a loving, fun, caring and old woman. Ally and Elena are tight. I love what Elena does for Ally. Elena immediately likes Adam and they have a great friendship. Ally, Adam and Elena always have an amazing, fun time together. Melanie Moreland wrote (again) a sweet, unique, touching, beautiful and romantic story that I highly recommend. Reading this book makes me want to reread one of her other books. I loved every single one of them. I know I’ll reread this book one day. Melanie is one of favorite authors ever and I always count down the days until her next release.

Adam is the photographer who will take any risk to get the perfect picture and that is how his latest escapade has landed him in the hospital under the care of Alex his sexy nurse. Alex has everything money can buy however due to a tragic incident ten years ago she has spent every day since then trying to make amends to her mother for something that wasn’t her fault. From the moment he met Alex his feelings for her were something he had never felt before and he knew that they belonged together. Alex has spent years trying to please her parents and she knows that Adam is not what they had planned for her but the draw to him is too strong to deny. When they are torn apart Adam will do whatever is necessary to prove to Alex that they are soulmates but will she agree? I loved how protective and loyal Adam was and the connection and chemistry between them was intense! If you like a story about insta-love then this is the one for you. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The blurb lured me, the story kept me hooked. What a story it is! Adam is a world renown photographer who places himself in the most dangerous of places, while back at home on a break a mishap leads him to the local ER where he meets Alex, a nurse who he insists on calling Ally. As a patient, he's a nurses worst nightmare, demanding overbearing and bossy. His charm doesn't go very far with Alex. The Dr on duty tells Alex to sew him up and the problem comes in when he needs to be watched for 24 hours because of his concussion. So what we see start as an odd meeting between patient and nurse, blossoms into an all out spectacular relationship. Not without it's problems, which are primarily her mother and step father who control her every breath. With Adam's help, Ally's confidence grows and so does their relationship. She is persona non grata to her mother, forget the step father and the only one she has is an elderly Aunt who has been there for her. She loves Adam and she knows the two are meant to be together. Soon enough Adam gets called back to work and travels to major disasters around the globe and of course Ally worries about him while he is away. When the trips increase in frequency and Ally becomes more unnerved by his absence he decides to retire from that aspect of his job, makes an agreement to train his underling and do one more special spread that had been planned. Alley picks a fight the day he's leaving throwing all sorts of crap at him and honestly I had no idea where it came from. These two had been through a lot, now engaged and planned to get married, quietly, the way they both wanted. Yet the mother still yanked her chain but not quite as much. While Adam is in Africa doing a story on a hospital and dangerous wildfires at the same time, something happens back home. The last text he gets from her when he reaches civilization is she never wants to see him again. He is devastated. Clearly these two were deeply in love and what the hell happened? Gotta read the book for that second half of the story. And yes, Miss Melanie threw in a total curve. I liked Adam a whole heck of a lot. I had a tough time warming up to Ally. Understanding her backstory which is clearly spelled out, while she let it shape her, she also tried to overcome it. Yet she still got sucked into the cycle. The final thing that iced it for me was her unusual behavior and verbal attack before he left for Africa. She knew it was the last trip, ever. She knew he wanted to honor his obligation yet she just ..... enough said. She sent him off feeling guilty (guiltier and more worried about her than normal when he left town) and not feeling very good and angry as well. When the crap hits the fan Adam is left on his own, and must deal with the fall out. Alone. I felt bad for the man. He's so taken with her her and she with him, what he returns to doesn't make sense. I wasn't really happy with Ally's behavior or the ensuing section which I won't go into detail. While she really does go through hell in her own world, it doesn't negate what Adam went through either. The Mother and step Father you will hate as well as Bradley the make believe boyfriend that her parents shove at her. I loved her Aunt. Loved that woman and she made the book sparkle, when it needed some pizazz. All in all, a good read. The epilogue was great. If you're a Melanie Moreland fan, you'll want to read this one. **arc from NetGalley and Loveswept in exchange for a fair review**

This book had everything I want as a reader. It makes you smile, it tugs at your heart and makes you blush! The love between these characters is intense and consuming to read, even when things are bad you can just tell things will always be okay because they have each other. I feel like there is no way to really give details of this books without spoiling something and it is such a beautiful story you should let it just unfold in front of your eyes with no preconceived notions. I can't wait to pick up more books by this author, definitely worth the read

A touching and fiercely emotional book dealing with betrayal and all kinds of crazy from those you should trust. After having her life become a virtual hell from those who were supposed to love and support her Ally meets and falls deeply in love with someone her family would reject, Adam. Between his job and her family this author has giving us a story that is hard to put down. She just mangles your emotions as the scenes unfold, forgive when we don't want to, excuse when there is no excuse, loving when you don't even know you have more love to give. This is a great read from an author I am new to and can't wait to enjoy more of. her books. I love the emotion and the laughter and the civilized angst her book drew from me, and the book hangover it left me with. Wonderful read.

I LOVED Melanie's story, THE CONTRACT and I love more MY IMAGE OF YOU. The characters were more developed and real; the story emotional and touching. This is a must buy IMO. Thanks to the author for a wonderful story.

My Image of You was a good read. This story focuses on Adam and Ally. The prologue was absolutely perfect and I was completely hooked. However, after the prologue the book had a slow start. I enjoyed both Adam and Ally's character, but I completely hated her mom Sarah. There were a few surprises in this story, some I saw coming and some I never expected. Adam loved Ally unconditionally and she deserved to have someone love her and be there for her. Overall, it was a good read with a sweet ending and I look forward to reading more books from this author.
