When Sly, an angry, powerful, and controlling police officer goes after his soon-to-be ex-wife, Sadie, the situation is frightening, to say the least. They have a vulnerable five-year-old son, Jayden, who in a position to receive any backlash from Sly’s vindictive behavior. Sly refuses to move on and will do anything to get Sadie back. His jealously over Sadie’s new employer, Dawson, who was found innocent of murdering his parents, creates a rage that builds and becomes practically impossible to control. This second book in the Silver Spring series is intense. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for someone to be on Sadie and Dawson’s side. The characters were realistic and the action never ending. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one in this well-written, poignant series.

This book centers around Sadie, an abused wife of Sly, a policeman, and Dawson. Dawson was accused of killing his adoptive parents and has just been released from jail. Sadie and her son have left her abusive husband and cannot find a job in town due to the town believing and fearing Sly. Dawson hires Sadie to help take care of his disabled sister. I won't spoil the rest for you, but you will love this book! I always say that Brenda Novak has outdone herself with the books that I have read but, she has a writing technique that brings you into the story. You actually fall in love with her characters and the town. This is another story you don't want to miss! If you have never read any of her books, this one will make you want to keep coming back to her! Another fabulous book Brenda Novak!

No One But You is the 2nd book in the Silver Springs series by Brenda Novak. However it can be read as a stand alone. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sadie who is going through a bad divorce from a cop, who the town thinks does no wrong. Dawson has just been released from jail after being accused of killing his parents. The townspeople think he is guilty. Sadie is hired to help Dawson get the house ready for his dependent sister. No spoilers here, read the story to find out what happens. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

No One But You is Book 2 in Brenda Novak's Silver Springs series. What an adventure the author takes us on in this story. Even though it is Book 2, it does not need to be read in order and does very well as a stand alone. Dawson Reed is recently released from prison trying to build a new life for himself in the house his parents were found murdered. Sadie Harris desperately needs a better job in order to successfully support herself and her son after leaving her abusive husband. Great character development, steamy romance and an engaging plot kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Despite everything he had been through Dawson was a superb guy and it was great to see the way he was there for Sadie through everything her evil, soon to be ex-husband put her through. All in all, this was a great addition to the Silver Spring series. I cannot wait to read Book 3.

Another emotional journey into Brenda Novak's latest fictional town, Silver Springs! Two disinheartened souls feel alone in the world as they fight the uphill battle to reclaim their lives. One through divorce and moving on from abuse and another through trying to pick up the pieces after he's finally free from prison and home again .. but without the family he loved dearly. The characters are well defined with turmoil fueling their actions for much of the book. I am enjoying Silver Springs very much and look forward to the my next visit! Sadie Harris' divorce is almost complete and she just wants to move forward with her life with her young son. She isn't looking for much ... just a job that will allow her to keep their head above water and will sustain her full custody claim if he ex goes through with his threat to sue for custody. Her shifts at the diner just aren't enough to make ends meet anymore. She is leery of answering the help wanted ad .. but what else can she do? She needs the money that this job will give her! Dawson Reed is back home in Silver Springs and trying to pick up the smashed pieces of his so-called life. Yes, he finally got justice and was acquitted in his adoptive parents murders .. but the town still believes he did it, and are very clear in how unwelcome he is. He needs help ... he has to get a caregiver in place so he can bring his dependent sister home again. When Sadie answers his ad and he sees her work ethic first-hand, he realizes he lucked into a great employee. He just hopes the things working against them will ease up so she'll want to stay to do the job! As Sadie comes to know Dawson, she realizes he's a really kind man .. and she doesn't believe for a second that he butchered his parents .. but believe it and proving it are two totally different things. No matter how many people she tells that he's a good man, no one is going to believe it until they find who really did commit the murders. And how can they concentrate on doing that when Sadie's ex keeps piling more trouble on their backs?

Sadie Harris is struggling to make it on her own after she served her husband Sly divorce papers but she has had enough of the way he treats their 5 year old son, Jayden. Unfortunately, Sly is a cop in their small town of Silver Springs and he has blocked every attempt she has made at trying to better herself. With no other choice, Sadie decides to answer a newspaper ad placed by Dawson Reed. Dawson needs someone to help take care of his mentally challenged sister, Angela. Dawson also was just recently released from jail. He was charged with the brutal murder of his adoptive parents, but was ultimately found not guilty. Of course, most people in town still think he really is guilty. Sadie quickly realizes that Dawson is not at all what she expected him to be. He is actually very nice, sweet and caring. Dawson needs Sadie's help so he can bring his sister home from facility she has been in for the past year and Sadie is grateful for the job. Of course, Sly tries to stop her from working there. Sly always likes to have total control over Sadie and he is having a hard time dealing with the fact that she wants a divorce. Dawson quickly comes to Sadie's defense which irritates Sly even more. Between the town treating Dawson poorly and Sly trying to make life miserable for Sadie, they bond quickly as "the outsiders" of the town. Dawson and Sadie quickly form a great relationship. They both are attracted to each other, but neither one of them will act on it. Just when their lives are starting to move forward, disaster happens and Dawson and Sadie rely on each other more for emotional support. I loved how these two got together over similar problems and ended up helping each other and ultimately finding love in the process. I really enjoyed the suspenseful part of this really kept me reading to see what was going to happen next. I also really enjoyed the part of the story about who really killed Dawson's adoptive was a great tie-in! Overall another really great story in the Silver Springs series by Brenda Novak.

Classic Brenda Novak If you’re a fan of romantic suspense (or suspenseful romance), this new title from Brenda Novak won’t disappoint. NO ONE BUT YOU is the second title in Novak’s new series set in the fictional California town of Silver Springs. In NO ONE BUT YOU, both Dawson Reed and Sadie Harris are desperate. Dawson’s adopted parents were brutally murdered and his special-needs sister has been institutionalized while Dawson was tried — and acquitted — of the crime. Dawson is working to rebuild his family’s farm and get the house — the scene of the crime — in order so his sister can return home. Sadie, meanwhile, wants the final break from her husband, from whom she’s been separated a year. Sly, however, a cop who loves the power of the badge, refuses to admit the relationship is over and does everything in his power to keep Sadie dependent on him, including pressuring anyone with a job opening not to hire Sadie. Dawson, for obvious reasons, doesn’t like police officers who throw their weight around, and Sadie decides the money she’ll make working as Dawson’s housekeeper outweighs the doubts about Dawson she hears from all her friends. Beyond the romance that springs from Dawson’s and Sadie’s friendship, Novak keeps the suspense front and center with two simultaneous storylines: Will Sly ever get his comeuppance for his bullying? And, if Dawson didn’t kill his parents, who did? So far, this is my favorite title in Novak’s new Silver Springs series (I know, there are only two titles out). I was rooting for Dawson and especially Sadie from the beginning and had to keep turning the page to find out what would happen next.

Great read full of suspense, doubt, stalking and mis-trust. The story grabs you from the start and doesn't let you go until the end. The characters are fantastic, with wonderful interactions. The story line brought several different elements together as Sadie and Dawson try to find peace and happiness. Loved this read, anxious for more. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all opinions expressed are my own.

And the hits just keep coming! This is another fabulous story in the Silver Springs series and it features Sadie Harris and Dawson Reed. Their attraction seemed like it grew over a period of time but in reality it was only about a week or so. The one person that didn't like Sadie working for Dawson was her soon to be ex-husband, Sly, a police officer in Silver Springs. In everybody's eyes, except Sadie and a few others, Dawson was a murderer, even though he was found innocent by court of law. I can't imagine what he went through losing his parents and spending over a year in jail awaiting trial for their murder, being found innocent but still guilty in the eyes of most of the people in town. TRAGIC! This is a crazy good story and I can't wait for the next one.

Another enjoyable read set in Silver Springs. I'm enjoying the world building that is going on in this small town. Sadie's fear of her ex is fairly common, unfortunately, especially when the ex is a position of perceived power. An intriguing read on your next cross-country drive!

I really liked this book. I HAD to keep turning the pages to find out how things were going to turn out. This is the first book I've ever read by this author, and I will definitely read others; especially the ones in this series.

Contemporary Romantic Suspense. I enjoyed the book, kept my interest all the way through. I finished the book in two sittings. Brenda Novak always writes interesting story lines and the suspense will keep you turning the pages. Even though you know who did it you can't wait to see what happens next. There are a couple of surprises. The hero has been in jail for the suspected murder of his parents. The heroine starts out as a struggling mother but learning to stand on her own. There are actually two different things going on but it will keep you turning the page. Mild language and some bedroom scenes. I bought this e-book and no one asked me to leave a review. I highly recommend it and reading the preview for the next book in the series is a definite buy for me. "No One But You" is part of a series but a stand alone book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading more in this series. There are some lovable characters in the book and twists and turns to keep your interest.

Sadie Harris just can’t make ends meet on her waitress pay so she takes a job as housekeeper/cook for Dawson Reed. Everyone thinks she has flipped when she takes the job. Dawson was accused of murdering his adoptive parents and, although a jury found him innocent, townsfolk are convinced he is guilty of the crime. Sadie is trying to get her husband Sly to finalize their divorce but he keeps trying to get her back to make her life miserable. Sly is a sadistic police officer and used his badge to make people cave in to his demands. He is determined she won’t leave him even if he has to kill her. This was the second book in the Silver Springs series and I liked it a lot better than the first one. This one was full of suspense as Sadie and Dawson went up against the conniving police officer Sly Harris. As one of the town's police officers, no one thought that this upright citizen could be guilty of all Sadie knew he had done. So glad he was finally caught.

I’m slowly falling in love with the small town of Silver Springs. If you love to root for the underdogs then this one is for you. Dawson is trying to rebuild his life after being acquitted of murder charges. Sadie is trying to build a life for herself and her son away from her soon-to-be ex-husband. Together they face one battle after the next. My only criticism would be that the ending left me a bit unfulfilled. I know their story ended where it needed to but I still craved a tiny bit more. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Dawson returns to the family farm after a year in jail awaiting trial for the gruesome murders of his parents. Now that he has been acquitted, his only goal is to get the farm in shape so he can get his sister out of the state's care and home. Because the house was trashed by vandals, Dawson advertises for a caretaker/housekeeper. Sadie Harris accepts the job because she is desperate to make enough money to support her son and get away from her abusive, soon-to-be ex-husband, who also happens to be a power hungry cop. The town still thinks Dawson is guilty, but after just one day, Sadie trusts him and thinks he was falsely accused. I didn't think I could like a series as much as I like the Whiskey Creek, but I was wrong. From the first page I was routing for Dawson and Sadie, as roadblock after roadblock is put in their way.

(While this technically picks up after Finding Our Forever, it really is more of a stand alone story.  Dawson’s story was vaguely brought up in the first book and a few of the characters make another appearance, but No One But You really is self-contained.) I really enjoyed the bit of mystery and danger that Novak brings into play here.  She’s also a writer of suspense books so you get that darker feel but it is an underplay to the emotions which are so very important.  Sadie’s got problems with her ex and is trying very hard to find a way to support herself and her son … even if it means working for a man accused of killing his adoptive parents.  But once she meets Dawson she starts to think that things may not be as everyone believes.  His big heart and strength of character calls to her.  Dawson knows he;s innocent and now that he’s been acquitted by the court he just wants to make a home so he can get his sister back.  He needs help and that help turns out to be Sadie.  She may look like life has gotten the best of her but she’s got so much heart and determination that he has to admire her for it.  As these two begin to get to know each other, they slowly become friends and each other’s champions.  But with her wily ex and the townsfolk who aren’t so quick to forget what he supposedly did, it won’t be easy.  As their feelings grow into something more they take on more and more for each other, working to find a way to have a future together.  While there were parts in No One But You that had me holding my breath to find out what happened next, it is the layers of emotion and the people that Novak skillfully develops that keep me coming back for more of her stories.  *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

Brenda has again written another winner. There was romance and suspense in this book and I loved it! Can not wait till the 3rd installment in this series comes out.
