About the Author

Pamela Nisevich Bede is the creative mind behind Nutrition for the Long Run, a nutrition consulting firm, and is co-owner of Swim, Bike, Run, Eat! LLC an on-line sports nutrition firm. She is a scientific researcher, an adjunct instructor at Sinclair Community College, a former instructor at Miami University, and a clinical dietitian at Dayton Children's Medical Center. Pamela's media outreach and participation includes nutrition expert appearances on NBC and CBS affiliates and as an author in IDEA Fitness Journal, Today's Dietitian, My Family Doctor. She has been featured as an expert in various publications such as MORE magazine, Runner's World, and Health. Pamela is also the sports nutrition expert for the renowned Runner's World Marathon Challenge program.

Pamela is the former Director of Continuing Education for the American Dietetic Association Practice Group, Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists (SCAN), and the media liaison for the Dayton Dietetic Association.

Pamela is well versed in various clinical, research, commercial, and educational settings with diverse client populations. With a strong educational base in both dietetics and exercise, Pamela facilitates patient and client quests for optimum health, wellness, and athletic performance. Her nutrition communications work has included extensive meal planning and menu creation, ghost writing, blogging, formulation of new food products for industry, and working as a nutrition spokesperson for major players in the nutrition industry.

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, this creative mind earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Miami University and a Masters of Science in Medical Dietetics from The Ohio State University.

An elite athlete, Pamela recently completed Ironman Wisconsin. She enjoys competing in road-races and has run 13 full marathons including many appearances at both the Chicago and the Boston Marathon. As a marathoner, she placed first in her age group and was the 13th woman overall at the 2010 San Francisco marathon.
