Literally the funniest political book ever. The author portrays himself as a serious journalist on the trail of a mythical conspiracy. I can see Will Farrell playing him in the movie version. As he pours through piles of fabricated and imaginary evidence, his friends start to question his sanity, while journalists believe his progressively wilder theories. This hilarious political satire at its very best. You'll laugh until you cry.
Anyone wanting to understand the Byzantine machinations of the current occupant of the U.S. White House should read this book. Mr. Abramson has laid out thousands of substantiated details about the criminal activities leading up to Nov. 6, 2016. This is not opinion; he's gathered only facts from newspapers around the world that were reporting on little bits of the scheme(s) as they cropped up - all sources are verified first by the editors of whatever news source it is, secondly by the editors and fact-checkers of Abramson's publishers. It's a massive, complex story and he has constructed his chapters to make it easier to follow. The writing is clear, interesting, not academic or full of political jargon. There is a huge footnotes appendix and there are even more notes and references available online, with locations given in the book. You owe it to yourself to read this book. (And there's another one, starting where this one left off, in the pipeline: Proof of Conspiracy. Watch for it!) This is a jaw-dropping amount of work, and what it tells us is horrifying.
