Overview

Purple Toast is an awkwardly suspensful children's book where all the colors are mixed up. This book is written in first person. "When I awoke, I was under my bed." "I looked in the mirror and my brown hair was red." Curiosity keeps the child reading forward. This adorable rhyming story has a surprise ending. Children as young as 1 will love to be read this story time and time again. Children of reading age, 5-8, will love reading this book themselves over and over just to get to the surprise ending again. The full color illustrations, done with colored pencil, acrylic paint and chalk, cover the full page allowing the open book to have a double wide picture. All the Ima Rimer Trademark books are a rhyming story with a surprise ending. Watch for the next book to be published soon!

About the Author

I, Judith Kranek, was born and raised in Euclid, Ohio. I have a great love of children, reading and art/illustration. My strong knowledge of the English language has allowed me to combine my strongest assets and proceed with my dream of being a well-known Children's book author and illustrator. This is the first of a long line of Ima Rimer books that are written; all with a surprise ending.
I am currently working diligently at producing the next 5 Ima Rimer books: Mr. Giggles, Me, Backyard Surprise, Flowers? and The Invaders. I am also attending our community college to enhance my 30 years of art experience and am currently enrolled in a portrait class. My ownership of a large ceramic shop for ten years enhanced my art skills. My studio won the Best Studio award for Greater Cleveland in 1996. I hold a part-time position with Young Rembrandts where I am an art instructor for the elementary grades. This program is an after school, voluntary, paid program that teaches children how to draw and apply color in a number of mediums. The children are great and my reward to see them aspire are never ending.
