Overview

On an idyllic afternoon in the breathtakingly beautiful Kovalam Beach, among the waving coconut palms, rhythms of the ocean waves and hot afternoon sun, two young medical students fall in love. Radha is a young girl raised in the strictest Hindu traditions, and Danny is a Christian boy. In this classical story, we follow them as their lives intertwine and separate, their dreams blossom and wither, and as pawns in the game of fate they land back on the same shores of the ocean to experience their ultimate destiny. Radha's story is unique, and evokes tender smiles, laughter and tears, anger and indignation, and above all, hope, despite all ups and downs. As we journey along, we experience the exotic, wonderful and extraordinary lives of this duo. "Radha" is vividly set in India and in the United States, and her story can only be told by one who has lived in both worlds. The author, Shaku Rajagopal, is a physician herself. Thus she brings an authentic voice to the medical side of the story with rich detail, while keeping our hearts and minds sympathetic to Radha's personal needs and dreams, leaving us rooting for Radha's happiness.
