This book was like listening to my family stories (only written in a way that makes sense, and didn't go off on tangents!). The way the history of the Catskills is laid out, from all the way back in the 30s, to the bustle of the 40s and 50s and then the Dirty Dancing era--is fascinating. Highly recommended.

I attended a recent author talk about STOP AT THE RED APPLE and enjoyed all the juicy stories of food and fame that walked through the door of the red Apple Rest for decades. Sure enough, the book tells the whole story--it's a whole trip through a part of American history and a lot that happened from the 1930s all the way through. I got a copy for my mom also. Larry

I laughed out loud recalling the hot dog stand, and reading the stories of the celebrated comedians after their Catskills show at the Red Apple at 4am. This was truly enjoyable and brought back some nice memories that I hadn't realized I had forgotten. highly recommended.

Stop at the Red Apple is a beautiful walk down Memory Lane. I stopped at the restaurant all the time during the summers, and didn't know all the history laid out in the book.  It was a great read, very interesting and well worth it.
