About the Author

The author, Kingdawud Mujahid Burgess, is no stranger to poverty, prisons, peril, or pain. Through true life experiences he knows first hand what its like to be shot, stabbed, have to kill or be killed. Based on the journey he has taken in life, he is able to tell us about a world many of us wouldn't dare to venture into.. A world that has left generation after generation scared for life, dead, incarcerated or turned out on medication.
At the tender age of ten upon his mothers death, he to became a victim of the perils of poverty and pistols. With no job experience and not wanting to remain homeless or starve, he chose to sell drugs as a way to escape his environment and its hellish conditions. This lead to his federal incarceration of 200 months aswell as a two year juvenile sentence and a six year state sentence.
Due to his anger and attitude of refusing to go for anything from anybody; he spent most of his time in solitude where a man is able to find out very quickly who he is and about the world around him. He came to understand that everything this world possesses that is most precious has to be found in the deepest and darkest corners of the earth, that many men wish and will never choose to travel to. It is through his writing that we are able to get a glimpse of hell without having to ourselves feel the sting of its flames. Kingdawud who is nearly finished serving his entire 16 year and 8 month federal sentence spends his time reading , writing and learning about the world.
He has faced all adversities and pitfalls in life and now his life's work will show the world; inspite of...Never give up!
