Overview

Fifteen-year-old Rya knows she must not be very bright. But what she lacks in reading and math skills, she makes up for with a special gift-an empathic connection with nature that allows her to sense things that nobody else can.

So when a natural disaster threatens the school and everyone in it, it's Rya's abilities that save the day...well, sort of. Though the lives of the teachers and students are spared, her parents are nowhere to be found-and several odd discoveries lead the teen and her friends to suspect the mudslide may not have been accidental after all.

Set in a magical world where mythical creatures roam and anything is possible, The Girl, The Gryphon, and The Dragon is the story of one girl's search for answers, as she comes to terms with issues like bullying, learning issues, and loss.

With the help of new friends and old, Rya comes to fresh realizations about hope, love, and family-while escaping danger at every turn as she uncovers deeply-buried secrets that could change the course of her life forever.
