Overview

Most of the poems in this book were written while sitting on the edge of a lazy pond contemplating life, nature, and the feelings they created. The poems in this book take the reader on a journey through nature, the seasons, memories, and feelings, as well as some fears he had during distinctive periods in his aging life. His wish is that that they evoke special emotions and memories in the minds of the reader.

About the Author

James G. Piatt earned his BS and MA from California State Polytechnic University and his doctorate from Brigham Young University. He lives with Sandy, his wife of 57 years, in Santa Ynez, California. She has always been his inspiration, his muse, and his vanity barometer. He also feels she is a much better poet than he. He spends much of his summer time alongside a lazy pond, reading poetry, listening to classical music and jazz, penning poems, and writing short stories and novels. His first novel, The Ideal Society, a science fiction novel, was recently published on October 1, 2012. A great number of literary magazines have published over 235 of his poems in the past three years.
