This book shook me up and made me feel like I had been trapped in a washing machine. By the time I finished, I felt like I had been through a strenuous workout. And – I loved it. Connie is a woman betrayed by her disloyal and adulterous husband. Does he pay for his actions? Read and find out. We find Connie in a mental institution, awaiting trial for the attempted murder of her children by drowning. The reader observes her in situ, dealing with her demons, both past, and present. And it is bewildering, horrific, and sad. Connie suffers and we feel her pain. My sense of fair play was affronted, but that is part of life and a profound component of this wonderful novel.
