Cute story

I was given a gifted copy by NetGalley. Allison is the director of the Vet’s Center and every Christmas she helps to raise money for the little orphans so they can have at least one present each. Troy is a military K-9 officer and he doesn’t want to hear about Christmas, well it was so until he meets Allison. It's well-written with a credible storyline and characters, in spite of two weeks being a very short period of time to fall in love, it's Christmas and anything can be possible. A sweet book, a perfect one for Christmas. I loved how people were involved helping the orphan children in Mercy’s Place. The spirit of Christmas is all over the book. And I loved how Troy fights for Allison’s love. And I loved the ending too.

Welcome Home for Christmas is a sweet tale of opposites attracting in a scheme to fool parents. Allison is a director of a veterans center director who takes advantage of a bachelor auction to set up a charade to fool her mother, Allison wins Troy, a marine in the K-9 unit and arranges for him be her date. As they get to know each other, a real attraction begins to appear. Will the joy of the season inspire Troy and Allison to begin a real relationship? This novel was a cute, quick read that felt like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold day. I liked both characters and was very happy with how they matured throughout the book. If you like a military romance with a sweet spin, this is the book for you. I was given a free copy for an honest review.

Welcome Home for Christmas (Hero’s welcome series 4) by Annie Rains is a cute Christmas novel and a great read for the holiday season. Sgt. Troy Matthews is a marine in the K-9 unit at Camp Leon. He meets Allison Carmichael; the director of the Veterans’ Center in Seaside N.C. Allison has a problem. Her mother is a psychologist and always seems to find out the problems with Allison’s boyfriends before she does. The Veterans’ Center is auctioning off some of the areas single men to do chores for the areas women who have husbands deployed. Allison seizes the opportunity to bid on Troy Matthews to be her date to her family Christmas Party and since they will be playing a charade, it won’t matter what her mother thinks of Troy. Her heart won’t be broken. What starts out as a simple deception soon has some lasting a affects. Will Allison get a special Christmas present? This was an enjoyable Christmas story that will make you smile and laugh out loud. A great spicy romance to enjoy by the fire with some great characters to keep you company. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group Loveswept. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

4 “Merry Christmas, baby” Stars Welcome Home for Christmas will definitely put you in a festive mood, with its sweet, fun romance and lovable characters. Allison is tired of being singled out at her mother’s Christmas parties. Either the guy she brings is labeled a loser by her psychologist mother (which they usually end up being) or she must have a problem and that’s why she is still single. She just can’t win. That’s how she ends up bidding for the time of the hot marine she ran into at the wine shop the day before. Desperation and a super sexy MP will do that to a girl. Now they have to get to know one another so Allison’s mom will believe they’re together. Troy is not in the mood for the Holidays and he’s set on skipping Christmas altogether this year. Unfortunately, the redhead beauty who won him on the auction has other ideas, and as they spend more and more time together things begin to change for both of them. Troy loves his job and is completely committed to his career and his K-9 companion. So far he hasn’t found a woman who evokes the same sentiments, though, and he is worried about breaking more hearts. Allison is tired of always falling for jerks who leave her hurt. She’s perfectly happy alone and doesn’t need a man for anything. But when two people set on not getting involved find the one person who is their perfect match, will they give it a try or follow the lonely path they are on? Troy and Allison’s chemistry was super steamy and hot. I love how playful Troy was and what a big heart he had. He was a sweetheart underneath all that muscly military hunkiness. Allison was a great girl: she was always taking care of others and was all around nice. Her insecurities and the easiness with which she capitulated under her mother’s “expert advice” about people did get on my nerves more than once. Welcome Home for Christmas is a great addition to this series, and although I wish we’d have a bit more time with the previous couples, I immensely enjoyed reading it. It has Holiday spirit, romance, sexy shenanigans and more than one uplifting message. A total score! *I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book*

I just loved this book. It gives you the feel of the magic of the holiday season. Troy wants nothing to do with Christmas, but he never counted on meeting Allison. She is like me and loves Christmas. She understands the magic that it weaves. Watching how she brings the holiday spirit back to Troy is beautiful. Though how they got together is one interesting ride. I loved the epilogue. I couldn't have asked for a better way to end this one. I can tell you after reading this one it sure had me in the holiday spirit and left me feeling happy.

Welcome Home for Christmas was a heartwarming, sweet, fun, and well-written story with just enough turmoil to balance all the Christmas cheer. It has a dangerous mystery to solve to give it some spice, it has Christmas family drama like most of us have, it has goodwill and helping hands to spread the love to those in need, but mostly it has steaming hot romance, flirting, amorous play, and romantic moments that melts your heart. Troy is so easy to love, he is fun-loving, flirting, and a protective hunk who is sweet and kind to children. What's not to love, right?! Allison is a sweet lady with heart of gold. Because of her mom, she is little too focused on the negative aspects of people's personality, not trusting her instincts when it comes to men. The character development in this story was logical, real and tangible. I love how the author did it, so well immersed it into the tale, yet so obvious you couldn't miss it. Both leading characters have 'flaws' that they have to work on to make the relationship function, but they are willing to step up and make it happen. One of the social aspects of the story was the children's home and the kids desire and need for forever homes. So fitting to be delivering the review on the World Adoption day, as my heart went out for the little ones having such a desire for someone to love them. The other social matter, taking care of our veterans, is as important and it also happens to be the veteran's day in the States. I love the author's voice, her way of delivering the tale makes it so enjoyable that the time flies by while you read and you are reluctant to leave the world she created. Allison and Troy stole my heart with the inspiring, fervent, and wistful tale with so much love and passion, not only in between themselves but also for taking care of those in need, the perfect Christmas story message indeed. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Allison, executive director at the Veteran's Center, is organizing a charity auction to replace the stolen toys from the orphanage in Seaside, North Carolina. She's also dodging her mother's calls asking who she plans to bring to the family Christmas party. Allison is happily single and doesn't need to bring home another man that her mother will find fatal flaws with. She comes up with the bright idea to buy her date for the party at the auction. Troy, a Marine MP, has reluctantly volunteered for the auction. Troy is determined to skip Christmas this year but since meeting Allison, that's nearly impossible. When Allison wins Troy at the auction, they decide to spend time together before the party to prepare their stories. With chemistry as off the charts as these two, the time together is bound to lead to more. This is the second book of this series that I have read and I loved it. The magic of Christmas along with the amazing chemistry between Allison and Troy wouldn't let me put this book down until it was complete. I'm looking forward to what's next for the town of Seaside! *This is my voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy*

This is the first book that I've ever read by Annie Rains, and I will definitely be picking up more because I really liked this one a lot. I thought Welcome Home for Christmas was a super cute, fairly quick read at only around 185 pages, and I really enjoyed the holiday theme. I always love reading holiday romances around this time because it helps get me in the spirit. This book is part of the "A Hero's Welcome" series. It is number 4 in the series but can be read as a standalone, and I didn't feel lost in the storyline at all. Both of the characters were really likable. Troy was really charming, and Allison had such a huge heart. They had great chemistry and there are a few steamy scenes, but they didn't overwhelm the story. I was really happy that this one included an epilogue because I thought it really solidified their HEA. If you are looking for a light holiday read then I would say this one is perfect!

While we saw some past characters, we got a new story about two new characters. New as in, they hadn't been featured in their own story yet. Allison and Troy were wonderful characters. I really enjoyed them and thought they had great on-page chemistry. And honestly, for the first time ever, I don't feel that their story was cut short by being in a novella. It all felt right to me and I didn't once think, "No I think I'm missing some great stuff!" Rains did a wonderful job giving them a story all of their own and doing it justice.

I read this in one sitting and enjoyed it immensely. My heart became engaged at the beginning and never gave up. There were smiles and tears. Allison had locked herself up believing she was fine on her own. Troy was too restless to settle down. From the moment they met, they brought out the best in each other, and I loved that. I highly recommend this story, and I look forward to reading more in this series. I received a copy through Netgalley and this is my unsolicited review, my opinion.

This year, the Grinch isn’t green. No, ladies. Thanks to Annie Rains, this year the Grinch is tall, dark and deliciously handsome…! Welcome Home For Christmas is a beautiful and funny Christmas romance that will get you in the right mood for the holidays, and will make you swoon and wish you were in Allison’s shoes. Although the trope might seem like something that’s already been seen and read (single girl in need of a fake boyfriend decides to hire handsome guy who’d go to her family meeting with her), I liked how Annie Rains gave a fresh twist to it, creating a beautiful story that will keep you turning pages to find out what happens next. Allison is a very nice and relatable character, a heroine you can’t help rooting for from the very beginning. She’s torn between wanting to be independent and needing to feel loved by a man who won’t disappoint her. To make things worse, her mother is a renowned psychologist who never approved of any of the boyfriends Allison has brought home in the past—and she was always right about them. Troy. Do I really have to comment on him? I mean, can’t you just trust me when I say he’s the most adorable, swoon-worthy Grinch that ever existed? Every hero in this series has something that will steal your heart from the very first moment he steps into the scene, and Troy isn’t any different. He’s as funny as he’s hot—a deadly combination. Welcome Home For Christmas is a truly beautiful story, with just a bit of steam and a whole lot of heart-warming and entertaining moments, that will keep you smiling and swooning for a few hours. I highly recommend picking up this book, shutting out the rest of the world and losing yourself in Allison and Troy’s story for a few hours. Sadly, we’ve come to the final book in this beautiful series, and I can’t deny I’ll miss the people of Seaside. Thank you, Annie Rains, for creating these beautiful stories that kept me smiling, crying, swooning and falling in love with a new book boyfriend every single time. ***I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed the book. I wasn't compensated for my review.***

Like with Welcoming the Bad Boy, this one seemed a little easier read (more traditional contemporary romance). While it does have a lot of heart and a lovely story about two people meeting and falling in love, the first couple of stories of the series seemed to have more angst to them. Mind you I'm not complaining, some times you need that and sometimes you don't :) But the upside is that Rains doesn't lose her deft touch at writing involved stories just because she leaves out some of the soul-searching and drama. She still gives readers fully developed and wonderfully crafted characters. The narrative is engrossing and I found myself reading it in about a day because it was so easy to get into and so hard to put down. Allison needs a pretend boyfriend because she's got one of those loving families that likes to get a little too involved in her life. Her mom is on her about settling down but when she brings a beau over then her mom's psychologist skills come out and she tells Allison exactly what's wrong with him ... darned if you do, darned if you don't, right? The family is very loving but you can totally understand how Allison finds herself in this situation. Recently burned, though, she's not in the market for a real boyfriend, which is where Troy comes in. Troy doesn't have anything against love or relationships, he just not looking for either right now. But he's sure not going to ignore the intense attraction between him and Allison. I love that there isn't anything really wrong with Troy - he's just a happy-go-lucky guy who hasn't yet found a woman he wants to get serious with. He's sweet, kind, sexy, hard-working, caring, blah blah blah, ya know just perfect. The slow build between the two as Allison resists her attraction to Troy and he enjoys flirting with her just to see her react is fantastically entertaining. They dance around the issue with humor and fun but you know that they are totally getting together. There are some serious moments - the interactions with their families (Troy has his own troubles at home), orphans without toys, and a burglar stealing from people in Allison's neighborhood - but it all works together very nicely with the playfulness, heat and charm of them falling in love. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. Sergeant Troy Matthews is a K9 Military policeman and a Grinch. After falling out with his family he has refused to spend time with his brother at Christmas. Allison Carmichael loves Christmas. Unfortunately her mother has an uncanny knack of pointing out the flaws in Allison's boyfriends, well before they fulfil her expectations and let Allison down. As a consequence Allison is not looking forward to running the gauntlet of the family Christmas lunch, if she doesn't bring a date she will be psycho-analysed professionally and by well-meaning amateurs, if she does bring a date her mother will point out his faults. Allison organises a bachelor auction on base, her aim is to help soldier's wives get household tasks done while their husbands are overseas (clearing gutters, installing home security etc). After meeting Troy earlier in a wine shop, Allison decides the easiest thing would be to take a fake boyfriend to her family dinner, no pressure and she won't care what her mother says. Whilst not as funny as the previous book in this series, Welcoming the Bad Boy, I did enjoy this, even though I read it over three months before Christmas, I really like Annie Rains' books and this series in particular. I received a free copy of this novel from the author via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Aww what a great holiday story. Troy and Allison were so cute together. Throw in the festive holiday backdrop, some charity work and lots of hot chemistry and what you have is a feel good story filled with romance. I love every moment of this story. I received a copy of this book for my honest review! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved the title characters of Troy and Allison! Both characters were dealing with their own feelings of dread about the holidays, but in a completely different way! Both characters were very likeable in their attitudes and actions. Throw in some holiday magic and some cute kids and this story was a winner in my book. I like books I can read fairly quickly and this one was just long enough, but short enough I could read on my Sunday reading day! I will definitely be looking for more books from Annie Rains. Hope you also enjoy this Christmas story!

Welcome Home for Christmas by Annie Rains is an engaging holiday romance. This is the love story between Allison Carmichael, the director of the Seaside Veteran's Center, and Troy Matthews, a military police officer stationed at the local base. Ally needs a date for her family's Christmas dinner, so that her relatives will stop bugging her about not being married. So she buys Tony's services at the center's annual charity auction, which she is hosting. They go on a few actual dates, and as they get to know each other, pretending to be couple becomes quite natural. Overall, I liked this heart-warming and sexy story. Ally and Troy are a hot couple, both in and out of the bedroom. This story sheds a lot of good will and I felt the warmth the author was creating from beginning to end. The delightful epilogue will leave you smiling from ear to ear. This is the fourth book from the Hero's Welcome series and it an be enjoyed as a standalone. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I was looking for a falling in love Christmas story and this book was just perfect. I love watching the Hallmark Channel movies around the holidays and was looking for a similar type book. This story could definitely be a Hallmark movie, but there was more heat in the book than on the Hallmark channel. I really enjoyed Troy and Allison's story. Who doesn't believe in Christmas magic? Allison wins Troy at an auction and wants him to pretend to be her boyfriend for her Christmas get together. Neither one of them was looking for a relationship so they were both prepared to walk away from each other, until they couldn't fight their feelings for one another. Just as you would predict, the fell for each other and neither wanted it to be over after the Christmas get together. Christmas magic at it's finest. This was a good quick read. Troy was a great hero and totally made my heart melt. If I was Allison I wouldn't let him go either. It was a fun Christmas read.

discovered this author by chance, and am so very glad I did. This book is part of the series , Hero’s Welcome, but if like me , you have not read the previous books, rest assure you will enjoy this stand alone as much as I did. The story centers around MP Sergeant , Troy Matthews , and Allison Carmichael , who runs the Veterans Center in town. In wanting to get funds for an orphanage, the Veterans Center has an auction. The prizes are men who will help the winners in the to-do lists around their homes. Allison decides to bid and wins Troy. Her purpose for the bidding is so that she can take Troy to her parents Christmas Eve party. Her Mom is a psychiatrist , and always tells Allison what’s wrong with her boyfriends or worries when she doesn’t have someone in her life. As Troy and Allison start spending time together in preparation for the party and her Mom , a friendship of sorts develops. But this entertaining story, is also a story about, self-esteem, parents expectations and sometimes hurtful comments, about family dynamics , trust, respect and how love can really be wonderful, warts and all. No one is perfect but if the essence of the individual is solid and loving, love can conquer all. I was gifted this book by Netgalley. The opinions are solely my own/

A wonderful sweet read that was completely entertaining. You can easily read this one without reading the first 3 in the series. The only time Allison Carmichael dislikes being single is the Christmas holidays. With the family all gathered all she hears about is how she needs to find that someone special. Well this year she has a plan. She needs to help raise funds for at a charity bachelor auction so she can raise funds and buy herself a fake boyfriend all at once. Luck has it that she wins Troy Matthews. A man who is all too willing to help convince her family that they are together. A fun read I highly recommend.

4 - "There's no fighting Christmas." Stars! I am sad to be saying goodbye to the residents of Seaside, the entire Hero's Welcome series holds so many fond memories for me with the couples I have met and the story-lines they have been given. It also made me fall irrevocably in love with the superb writing of Annie Rains, and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for her readers next. "There’s no fighting Christmas." I am so glad that for the final book Allison Carmichael gets her happily ever after, as the manager of the Veterans Center, she has played a secondary role in pretty much every previous book. Troy Matthews, the MP who inevitably turns into Allison’s very own VIP is also not a totally new character, and they worked really well together. "What you resist persists." Both are a bit commitment shy for their own reasons, but I liked that this wasn’t the only focus of the story, there is a little suspense thrown in as well as some seasonal magic to keep things moving along. "I love the holidays… Everything is bright and merry." We also get to catch up with all the previous couples in the series as well, so this was a great Christmassy ending to a really, really enjoyable series. "This is my favorite Christmas. Because of you." This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Most of the time Allison is content. She adores her family, is happy with her choices, but then there are the times that loneliness rears it's head and leaves her yearning. What's a girl to do to shake away those holiday blues? A spur of the moment decision is about to pay huge dividends. I have been waiting for Allison to get her heart's desire. Her nurturing nature was evident in the care she took of others. The fact that her match had been right in her sights the whole time was a pleasant surprise. I have enjoyed every minute of Annie Rains' Hero's Welcome series. Full of positive, vivacous pleasure with endearing characters and lots of heart.
