Reviewed by Heather Osborne for Readers' Favorite Whisper into My Eyes by Christopher Jackson is a compilation of poems delving into the human subconscious. The poems begin with the speaker lamenting a great loss. “Stitches” describes a person longing to fix what has been broken. The speaker is worried about people seeing through him, but still wants to have some sort of deep connection. As the anthology journeys on, the reader sees the speaker come to terms with his inner turmoil. In “Cherished Life,” the speaker finds himself grateful for the comfort of others and is willing to begin to accept himself. He feels new life surging into his troubled mind and finally is able to begin his recovery. There are moments where the speaker finds himself reverting slightly, as in the poem, “Shattered Mind.” He finds that he is falling to pieces and needs to reflect in order to become whole again. The speaker experiences fear in “Scared,” realizing that he still is afraid to face the world at large. Finally, the collection concludes with the poem “Flower,” a culmination of every emotion that the speaker has experienced throughout his mental journey to inner peace. Mr. Jackson has managed to capture many emotions in such short poems. I really enjoyed reading the different feelings conveyed in them as the journey progressed. There is a profound sense of reflection and self-doubt combined into one. I could see a clear sense of a progression in the anthology and that is very important when it comes to creating a coherent collection of poems. Whisper into My Eyes definitely gives the impression of someone coming to terms with many difficult life decisions.

Reviewed by Maria Beltran for Readers' Favorite Christopher Jackson’s book of poetry, Whisper Into My Eyes: Cracked Hearts One Soul Book 1, is the first installment in a series. With titles like Weakness, Dancing Clouds, Shattered Mind, Realms, Buttons and You, this is a collection that promises to tug at our hearts and minds. Consisting of over forty poems, there is something for any emotion here - pain, fear, suffering, sadness, love, peace, happiness, and harmony. The opening poem is entitled My Love, a tribute to a loved one which sets the tone of the whole collection. Appropriately ending with the poem Flower, there is a suggestion of a happy ending here, making the book an uplifting read.  Whisper Into My Eyes: Cracked Hearts One Soul Book 1 is a collection of poetry that comes straight from the heart of author Christopher Jackson. Lyrical and at times melancholic, these are poems that speak of the affairs of one who knows how it is to feel deeply in love with someone. And like everyone who has known true love and everything that comes with it, the poet also expresses doubts, longing and sadness in some of his poems. Take these lines for example: "I hold my tongue/From the frightening words/That can scare the one/You love away. Clearly having doubts how to express his love, the poet treats the object of his affection like a very delicate flower that may fold its petals at his touch. Love is a universal feeling and this is one of the greatest qualities of this book of poetry - anyone can certainly relate to the poems that it contains.

Reviewed by Jack Magnus for Readers' Favorite Whisper Into My Eyes is book one of Cracked Hearts One Soul, a poetry series written by Christopher Jackson. Jackson writes free verse. Each poem tells a story or reveals a world in miniature. The poems are linked with themes of love, redemption, loss, suffering, solitude and illness, but each stands alone and is complete in itself. The poems in Christopher Jackson's book of poetry, Whisper Into My Eyes: Cracked Hearts One Soul are intense and lyrical. They beg the reader to be read aloud; some want to be read slowly, while others would seem to rush off the tongue. I found myself absorbed in each and every one of them. Jackson's style is direct and very, very personal, sometimes even uncomfortably so. This is a volume of poems that I found exceedingly hard to put down. I felt compelled to keep reading and rereading them. They are highly introspective and, at times, very visual. Some of the images are grotesque and frightening; there are monsters, and things that smother, and things one must run away from. There's so much in this slim volume. Jackson calls it a "meditative poetic journal", and it's an apt description indeed. There is that sense of an invasion of privacy in reading these poems; an almost delicious or decadent sense of reading another's diary, albeit with the implied consent of the diarist himself. Whisper Into My Eyes: Cracked Hearts One Soul is not for the faint of heart, but those venturesome souls who'll brave the shadows in search of excellent free verse will not be disappointed. It's highly recommended.

Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite Whisper Into My Eyes: Cracked Hearts One Soul Book 1 by Christopher Jackson is a collection of soul searching poems that will help connect readers to the hearts and souls of other people. The poems evoke feelings of pain, sadness, suffering, love, peace, happiness and harmony. The poems are meditative and reflective and take readers to places not traveled before; they transcend all boundaries of time and space. The whole collection revolves around love, opening ourselves up to other souls and reaching out to other hearts. They reveal what is light and what is darkness effectively and convincingly. The collection is profoundly synesthetic and one gets a feeling of vibration, exhilaration and great sensation while going through them. The poet has played well with the senses and mixed them up beautifully in a very simple yet aesthetic way. The haunting depiction of love, the weaknesses of humanity and the cracks in our lives make the poems relatable to readers. The style of writing is simple, neat and elegant. The short lines give an urgency, tension and uncertainty to the poems. The poet writes from his heart and all the poems have a beautiful lilt to them that will make readers want to read them again and again. All the poems convey the thoughts and feelings of the poet truly and vividly. The interesting images and emotions of the poet are interwoven in a way that propels the imagery forward.

Reviewed by Katelyn Hensel for Readers' Favorite Whisper Into My Eyes by Christopher Jackson is a short collection of poetry that even the layman poet will understand and relate to. The first set of poems from the Cracked Hearts One Soul collection takes us to a place where pure emotion dwells so that we can understand, feel, relate, and believe again.  A lot of poetry is in the eye of the beholder, but this set is relatively simple enough. Its universal themes of love, pain, suffering, harmony, sadness, and hope are easy to relate to, and the writing style that Jackson employs is simple, light, and flowing enough to make a great picture with very few words.  Perhaps my favorite of the poems was "Shower." It's a little risque, but so driven by human experience that I practically felt like I was reliving an early morning of joy and mischief with a past lover. It was cute, fun, and with just a hint of sassy that made it a great poem and one I'd like to share with that same boy from my past again.  Christopher Jackson is a people's poet. He doesn't waste time and space with ridiculously pretentious text like some current poets tend to do. His poems may be simplistic in syntax, but they transcend generations in being just as relevant to me as they would be to someone more than double my age. I enjoyed reading nearly all the poems, and even the ones that I didn't really feel for could be interpreted differently by others with different experiences.
