About the Author

Darlene Lancer, JD, MFT is a marriage and family therapist. She is a relationship and codependency expert and author of "Codependency for Dummies." In her private clinical practice, she has treated individuals and couples for over 25 years. For two decades, she's been a consultant and workshop presenter at many addiction rehabilitation facilities. She's a frequent guest speaker on radio and has lectured at colleges, universities, and various organizations.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, Ms. Lancer had a successful law career. She was a Senior Mediator for the Los Angeles Conciliation Court, where she helped families resolve custody and visitation disputes and domestic violence problems.
