100 Bullets #1 (NOOK Comic with Zoom View) based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
This is the first single issue of "100 Bullets". It has 24 well drawn color pages on the Nook Tablet. I picked it up as a short read for the doctor's office waiting room. I enjoyed this issue #1 so much, that I had to buy issues #2 & #3. The plot developed well. The pacing was excellent. Unfortunately, it was a little hard to read the gangbanger phonetics used in place of words the dialog boxes. The language did add ambience, though. Otherwise, its a good read with a bit of mystery The main character, Dizzy, was hard to relate to at first. Although, over the pages, I grew to like the former gangbanger. PLOT: Dizzy has a metric-ton of survivor's guilt. She blames herself for the drive-by shooting of her husband and baby. Dizzy's no angel, but she wants to make it right. Time in prison has given her a new perspective. Mr. Grave meets her on the outgoing prison bus. He gives her a briefcase and a story regarding the death of her family. As the rest of the story unfolds with twists & turns, the big question is: what will Dizzy do? I recommend reading the first 3 issues (the 1st Dizzy story arc) for about $5 total. Then, decide if you want to continue the series. If you want to read the entire series, please consider a trade paperback, instead of single issues. Both formats are available for Nook. I like trade paperbacks because they include several single issues collected in a book at a lower cost. Nook has that Zoom In feature that allows a double click on an image in order to increase the size of the page. There is violence, adult situations, language, etc. This not a book for children. -AvidReader
