101 Things I Learned After My Divorce by Tomi Tuel

Our society's divorce rate is shocking. A new book has improving these sad statistics and enriching relationships squarely in its sights. Tomi Tuel, a self-proclaimed Divorce Warrior, has penned 101 Things I Learned AFTER My Divorce, a heartfelt and funny field guide to divorce and recovery from it. In a moving yet lighthearted journey, the book shares universal truths about the emotional process of divorce and the stages along the road to renewal. In 101 Things, Tuel shares her insights and real-world experience to help readers grapple with their own reality while providing an oft-needed humorous diversion from the emotional chaos of shattered relationships. For most, seeing the warning signs of divorce isn't enough. Tuel helps readers see how they may have contributed to their own relationship woes and offers tools to help avoid, self-diagnose and even cure problems. Readers gain insight and learn about "The Crap Meter" (chapter 4), Being Rejuvenated (chapter 8), A New First Time for Everything (chapter 11) and Sex Economics (chapter 14). Tomi, who says, "There are no completely innocent spouses," is fearless in her approach, addressing such topics as post-divorce dating, getting from despair to indifference, and achieving the ideal divorce. 101 Things is a remarkable resource to help those in pain find perspective and realize there is life after divorce. It's a must-read for anyone considering or facing divorce, or for an interested bystander who wants to better understand the tribulations of a Divorce Warrior. In her debut book, Tomi's passion for inspiring and motivating those in pain is a genuine breath of fresh air - her book is a survival kit when life's turns make it difficult to breathe.

I found this book quite humorous in just the right spots and quite motivating in the others. It helped me during a difficult time see the forest through the trees. It gives great insight and perspective that I have not been able to find in other divorce recovery books. This book walks you through the process and helps you recognize where you are and what is normal; something I desparately needed. Even though divorce stung, it helped to laugh at some of it. The author is tackful in her approach to the humor and sensitive too. I did not find it offensive in the least. In fact, the parts pointed out in one of the reviews as being TMI was so on point and appropriate I laughed out loud. I thought it was great and I recommend it to everyone I know going through a divorce.

This is a great book for those newly divorced, contemplating divorce, or those simply wanting to avoid divorce. Divorce can steal your inner peace, this book helps get it back. Each chapter is full of relatable vignettes that are all too common in the process of divorce recovery. The Tips at the end of each chapter are invaluable and provide humorous insight to alleviate the sting. An easy read that will have you on the mend and feeling good about yourself in no time.

I loved this new author's spin on divorce. I found myself feeling better each time I sat down to read it. I bought copies for each of the members in my recovery group. Can't say enough about this book. It really helped.

This book is ok, but would not recommend it. The touching herself part made me think, hum, too much info. And the chimps masterbating? OK. Don't care about that either. Yuk. First she gets spiritual and then she's running around having alot of sex like a piggy? Choose another book that will be more helpful.
