I enjoy James Patterson and this series. But why, oh why, is the ebook more expensive than the hard cover book? Makes no sense at all!

Since you cant write a review about a book that hasn't been released yet I have to say that the entire series up to number nine have been wonderful. Each book has been different but with the same characters that you really bond with. But I have to say I probably wont be ordering this one until the e price comes down. Costing the same as a hard cover book is a crime. There is no trees being cut down, no printing had to be done and no shipping or handling but they still are going to charge $15? Good luck to those who give in and pay, i'm sure it will be worth it.

I love and have all of Patterson's books and other top authors, Baldacci, Johansen, Connelly, Woods & Sanford...but have had to change where I get my books due to the ever increasing Nook-Book prices. I love my Nook, but I can get them just as cheap in hard-cover in Sam's, Walmart or Cosco and am using Nook for the "bargain cheaper" books. It wasn't too bad when Nook gave you "Freebie Friday's" and occasionally, threw you a decent author. Now we don't even have that. Love my Nook...HATE THE PRICES. Sorry B&N...you are losing money from your faithful readers. REAd in AZ.

14.99 is ridiculous! we were led to believe that most books would be 9.99 or less. so why is it that just about every book i want is either 12.99 or 14.99. and none of these books are lendable! i will be going back to the library for these books.

I am new to the nook i recieved it for my birthday with lots of added hints.. I decided on the nook because i am always buying books from B & N so i thought it would be a cheaper alternative but the prices on the books on most i should say are far to absurd i will still read some on the nook but on books i really want to read if they are cheaper in book form i will be reading it from the book.I just dont understand why they are more for the e books when you are saving all the money on paper not having printing cost's.

First, the author has no control over price. Second, the publisher sets the bulk price and the bookstores can negotiate that price. The bookstore than adds markup to that price. A clue, author's receive no royalties on the bookstore profit. Only on the net cost of the book. Saying the author is greedy is beyond insulting. Break it down: Publisher price to store: $17 - 20 Bookstore markup: $5-$10 (their profit) Average author 10% royalties on net: That's $2.00 per book. Next time you go in for your annual raise, even though the cost of living has increased by 30% I'm sure you'll be fine with your boss telling you since you had enough to live on next year, you don't need any more added to your salary this year. No, ebooks should not cost more than print books. But don't pull in the author on this. He didn't price the book, the Nook, or the mark-up. And he has every right to earn whatever living he wants same as you do.

I do not believe the cost of the ebooks or I would have thought harder about the nook. I wanted to stop the hard copy books in my home and have given most of them to the library. Ebooks are more expensive than hard cover and audible from the audbile clubs. Is there an Ebook club out there that is compatable?

I have been a B&N customer for many many years. I loved getting the Nook when it came out so I could get my books whenever I was in the mood and not have to waste gas going to see if my store had it in. I have noticed that gradually the prices of the ebooks are going up. I have everyone of the Women's Murder Club Series and thought I would snap up this one too. When I noticed the price was higher than the hardcover, I shopped around on Amazon and Apple IBooks and this book is being sold with the same price by everyone. I find it odd that this one is so expensive when alot of my other favorite authors (Iris Johansen, Alex Kava) books are cheaper as ebooks. Maybe it's the publisher that sets the price? I'll suck it up and buy it, but not happy about it. Hope it's worth it!

When I saw the price for this ebook I went to James Patterson's website. It looks as if all of the ebooks are $14.99. This looks like a way for James Patterson and Little, Brown & Company to take advantage. I will not be reading this book. I will not be reading James Patterson as long as the ebooks are more than the hard copies.

I love the Women's Murder Club books. I recently purchased the Nook two months ago. My first surprise was when I purchased "No Time Left" by David Baldacci and waited several weeks to finally download the book and found it was for only 21 pages. What a rip off! Now I would love to purchase #10 in this series but will not because it is too expensive. B&N is falsely advertising that e-books are cheaper than hardcover books and their sales personnel are also giving customers false information. This e-book is more money than the hardcover book! B&N needs to rectify this problem. I will not be telling my friends or colleagues to buy a Nook. I have never written a review or rated a book before but I felt that I needed to voice my opinion about this terrible injustice.

I am not going to talk about the price of the book/ebook, because you can read reviews upon reviews about it. I am going to talk about the book itself. I found it very underwhelming, and after 20+ years of writing exciting novels, I was disappointed in Mr. Patterson. The story feels rushed, and has to many things going on to really get into it. I felt as though he tried to cram as many crimes into one book as possible, while the murder club never really did what you come to expect from past books. The girls never solved a crime together, there were different crimes each was working on, and I felt that the personal story of Lindsey Boxer was lacking. I am hoping that the next book is better.

It used to be that the name on the cover of a book was the person who wrote the book. How sad it is that that is no longer the case. Even sadder, the celebrity guest author's name is 20 times larger than the ghostwriter's, which in my opinion is fraud, as some will miss the name and buy the book mistakenly thinking it was written by the celebrity. It may be great, it may not. I'll never know.

I can't rate this book properly because I don't want to spend the money to download to my nook. I would love to read this book but I guess I will wait until it is available at my library to rent the ebook. I agree with all others that the pricing for nookbooks is outrageous...isn't electronic books to be able to save money and the environment by not having to print out the book. I haven't bought an ebook in so long due to pricing. Sad.

James Patterson and Little Brown is getting disgusting with their marketing lately. It used to be that they put previews in paperbacks but not with Patterson. Now he markets his next co-authored book that is coming out in a month or two later. Is this what you have reduced yourself James pimping? You have the power to say no but your unending greed proves that you are no longer a legitimate author but a boiler plate factory with all your minions doing the writing.

This was really fast moving. I just love the women's murder club series. If you haven't read it yet and are a fan of this series I'd highly recommend it.

Kind of boring in spots. Definitely a lot less action than previous books. As far as the Nook Price: The price is set by the publisher, not B&N. Take your case to the right people and maybe things will change. Or just don't read Nook Books.

this book did not hold my attention like most patterson novels.

Having said the above I would like to comment on the price B&N is charging for the ebooks. The main reason I chose the EBook was the lower price for the books and not having shelvesfull of hardcover books. Am somewhat disappointed in your marketing strategy.
