It has been predicted and foretold that cataclysmic events will occur in this December. Our Earth's crust will move, continents will shift. The poles will reverse. Many if not most of the people living on Earth will die. Only a select few will survive.

This will all happen as the 12th Planet, the Planet X or Niburu, a planet four times the size of Jupiter, comes closer to Earth.

Sources say Niburu is now behind the sun so we cannot see it. When its orbit brings it around so we can see it, it will become shot out like a slingshot. Its gravity will catch a hold of Antarctica and drag it northward bringing the South Pole up to what is now the tip of Brazil.

Authorities say that the President or the United States is about to make an announcement of these facts but the announcement has been postponed for fear of spreading panic.

But is this really true? What is the scientific basis for this?

Planet X is the 12th Planet because there are nine planets previously known, plus there is the sun and the moon. Now we know about Nibiru, so Nibiru is the 12th planet.

But is this really true? Is there really a 12th Planet? Now that we have proven as much as any such thing can be proven that life did not originate on Earth but on another planet, we come to the question of Planet X or Niburu. Will the gravitational forces of this planet destroy our life on Earth as we know it and, if so, when?

If this is going to happen a thousand years from now or even a hundred years from now we need not be much concerned about it. However, according to those who have had access to new translations of the works of the ancient Sumerians, it will happen at the end of this year, right now.

If this is the case, what should we do about it, or should we not worry about it, since there is nothing we can do anyway?

About the Author

Zecharia Sitchin (1920-2010) was born in Russia and grew up in Palestine, where he acquired a profound knowledge of modern and ancient Hebrew, other Semitic and European languages, the Old Testament, and the history and archaeology of the Near East. A graduate of the University of London with a degree in economic history, he worked as a journalist and editor for many years prior to undertaking his life’s work--The Earth Chronicles.

One of the few scholars able to read the clay tablets and interpret ancient Sumerian and Akkadian, Sitchin based The Earth Chronicles series on the texts and pictorial evidence recorded by the ancient civilizations of the Near East. His books have been widely translated, reprinted in paperback editions, converted to Braille for the blind, and featured on radio and television programs.

Chapter One

Of the evidence that we have amassed to support our conclusions, exhibit number one is Man himself. In many ways, modem man -- Homo sapiens -- is a stranger to Earth.

Ever since Charles Darwin shocked the scholars and theologians of his time with the evidence of evolution, life on Earth has been traced through Man and the primates, mammals, and vertebrates, and backward through everlower life forms to the point, billions of years ago, at which life is presumed to have begun.

But having reached these beginnings and having begun to contemplate the probabilities of life elsewhere in our solar system and beyond, the scholars have become oneasy about life on Earth: Somehow, it does not belong here. If it began through a series of spontaneous chemical reactions, why does life on Earth have but a single source, and not a multitude of chance sources? And why does all living matter on Earth contain too little of the chemical elements that abound on Earth, and too much of those that are rare on our planet?

Was life, then, imported to Earth from elsewhere?

Man's position in the evolutionary chain has compounded the puzzle. Finding a broken skull here, a jaw there, scholars at first believed that Man originated in Asia some 500,000 years ago. But as older fossils were found, it became evident that the mills of evolution grind much, much slower. Man's ancestor apes are now placed at a staggering 25,000,000 years ago. Discoveries in East Africa reveal a transition to manlike apes (horninids) some 14,000,000 years ago. It was about 11,000,000 years later that the first ape-man worthy of theclassification Homo appeared there.

The first being considered to be truly manlike --"Advanced Australopithecus" -- existed in the same parts of Africa some 2,000,000 years ago. It took yet another million years to produce Hom erectus. Finally, after another 900,000 years, the first primitive Man appeared; be is named Neanderthal after the site where his remains were first found.

In spite of the passage of more than 2,000,000 years between Advanced Australopithecus and Neanderthal, the tools of these two groups-sharp stones-were virtually alike; and the groups themselves (as they are believed to have looked) were hardly distinguishable. (Fig. 1)

Then, suddenly and inexplicably, some 35,000 years ago, a new race of Men -- Homo sapiens ("thinking Man")appeared as if from nowhere, and swept Neanderthal Man from the face of Earth. These modern Men -- named Cro-Magnon -- looked so much like us that, if dressed like us in modern clothes, they would be lost in the crowds of any European or American city. Because of the magnificent cave art which they created, they were at first called "cavemen." In fact, they roamed Earth freely, for they knew how to build shelters and homes of stones and animal skins wherever they went.

For millions of years, Man's tools had been simply stones of useful shapes. Cro-Magnon Man, however, made specialized tools and weapons of wood and bones. He was no longer a "naked ape," for he used skins for clothing. His society was organized; he lived in clans with a patriarchal hegemony. His cave drawings bespeak artistry and depth of feeling; his drawings and sculptures evidence some form of "religion," apparent in the worship of a Mother Goddess, who was sometimes depicted with the sign of the Moon's crescent. He buried his dead, and must therefore have had some philosophies regarding life, death, and perhaps even an afterlife.

As mysterious and unexplained as the appearance of Cro-Magnon Man has been, the puzzle is still more complicated. For, as other remains of modem Man were discovered (at sites including Swanscombe, Steinheim, and Montmaria), it became apparent that Cro-Magnon Man stemmed from an even earlier Hom sapiens who lived in western Asia and North Africa some 250,000 years before Cro-Magnon Man.

The appearance of modem Man a mere 700,000 years after Homo erectus and some 200,000 years before Neanderthal Man is absolutely implausible. It is also clear that Homo sapiens represents such an extreme departure from the slow evolutionary process that many of our features, such as the ability to speak, are totally unrelated to the earlier primates.

An outstanding authority on the subject, Professor Theodosius Dobzbansky (Mankind Evolving), was especially puzzled by the fact that this development took place during a period when Earth was going through an ice age, a most unpropitious time for evolutionary advance. Pointing out that Homo sapiens lacks completely some of the peculiarities of the previously known types, and has some that never appeared before, be concluded: "Modern man has many fossil collateral relatives but no progenitors!, the derivation of Homo sapiens, then, becomes a puzzle.

How, then, did the ancestors of modem Man appear some 300,000 years ago -- instead of 2,000,000 or 3,000,000 years in the future, following further evolutionary development? Were we imported to Earth from elsewhere, or were we, as the Old Testament and other ancient sources claim, created by the gods?

We now know where civilization began and how it developed, once it began. The unanswered question is: Why -- why did civilization come about at all? For, as most scholars now admit in frustration, by all data Man should still be without civilization. There is no obvious reason that we should be any more civilized than the primitive tribes of the Amazon jungles or the inaccessible parts of New Guinea.

But, we are told, these tribesmen still live as if in the Stone Age because they have been isolated. But isolated from what? If they have been living on the same Earth as we, why have they not acquired the same knowledge of sciences and technologies on their own as we supposedly have?

The real puzzle, however, is not the backwardness of the Bushmen, but our advancement; for it is now...

What People are Saying About This

Rosemary Decker

"Sitchin's works are outstandingly different from all others that present this central theme. His linguistic skills in the languages of antiquity and his pursuit of the earliest available texts and artifacts make possible the wealth of photographs and line drawings appearing in his books from tablets, monuments, murals, pottery, and seals.

I wonder how many people have heard about Zecharia Sitchin. He has written extensively over the last thirty five years on topics that most people would consider important for a variety of reasons; cosmology, cosmogony, archeology, paleontology, linguistics, history, geography, ufology, Sumerology, theology, and a few other 'ologies' as well as being one of the few people on earth who can actually read and decipher ancient cuneiform writing. . Born in Russia, he immigrated to Israel and then on to New York where he presently lives and continues to write. His knowledge in the fields he writes about is broad and deep and the passion he reveals for the related topics he writes about is evident in every one of his books. His writing abilities are matched by his expert knowledge in a broad range of fields that literally encompass the entire planet. . So, just what is it about Zecharia Sitchin that makes him a unique man, writer and teacher? . The answer to this question is simple; he not only wondered about the beginning and cause of our solar system and the beginning of mankind, he did something about it ~ he dug into the trash-bin of the ancient past and put together the intricate pieces of a story that literally surpass any science-fiction book ever written. Only, what he wrote (and continues to write) about 'ain't' fiction! . Many years ago I wrote a long review on some of his books, starting with his first, The 12th Planet. I'll link it here for those who would like to read it. It's called Impression of the Earth Chronicles. . Once you begin to get acquainted with Mr. Sitchin and his writings, I feel certain you will be captured by what he has to say; the conclusions he makes with reference to the history of our planet, from its 'creation' to the present time, as well as mankind's fate. . Below is a list of books that Sitchin has published which comprise . The Earth Chronicles: The 12th Planet (1976) The Stairway to Heaven The Wars of Gods and Men The Lost Realms When Time Began The Cosmic Code The End of Days . Companion Books: Genesis Revisited Divine Encounters The Lost Book of Enki . Autobiographical Books: The Earth Chronicles Expeditions Journeys to a Mystical Past . If you love a mystery; if you're interested in what the ancients thought and wrote about pertaining to earth's beginnings and mankind's entrance onto its landscape, as well as a comprehensive understanding of mankind's relationship to the "Lofty Ones"; those who came down to earth 450,000 years ago and created a full-blown civilization then you will love what Zecharia Sitchin has to say in his excellent rendition, fully encompassed in The Earth Chronicles.

Why is the paperback $4 but the paperless digital copy is near $20? Does not compute.

We live in a day and age where a person seems to either believe in a mono-theistic God (I.e. Christians, Jews, Muslims) or not. I'm part of the latter group. This book, instead of focusing on how "existence" began, tackles the question of "how did man evolve on this planet". The author provides an enormous amount of data to support his theories that man was "created" by an alien race. These aliens were considered "Gods" by man at the time, and most common folklore (modern religions) base their faith and beliefs on books written thousands of years AFTER these events transpired. It is not a tough jump to make. The author provides emperical evidence to support his claims, unlike most biblical stories. He is an expert in ancient Summerian cuniform tablets and uses them extensively in his discussions. I'd certainly recommend this book. It was a nice surprise.

When I first started reading this book I was immediately intrigued and glued to the pages from the very begining. All of the ancient texts that the author references to is real backed by proof "IN STONE" literally and told thousands of years ago just recently rediscovered and deciphered. The index in the back of the book is amazing with more then plenty of research that went into this "literary masterpiece." "Zecharia Sitchin" does a tremendous job of bringing together all of these ancient stories of "gods" and "celestial beings" and putting it all together in a book that is very fascinating and not hard to follow at all. You do not have to be a rocket scientist or be knowledgable in astronomy or ancient civilaztions to understand the point that the author is trying to make. "We are not alone" and I think that someday, hopefully sooner then later more scholars, scientist, and just downright everyday people will have to look at all of this given knowlege that has been laid right in front of our very eyes from the very begining of time. The ancient Sumerians were apparently very advanced for their time. All of the thousands of ancient sumerian texts (which is written in STONE) that have recently been discovered is undeniable proof that there is something more to our life as humans and our very civilization that we have today than what we are led to believe in mainstream archaeology. The proof is out there for us to see plain as day and I think that its past time we utilize our knowledge and more so plain common sense that has been given to us. Call it "god" or "religion" it all stems from one single believe that over time has changed and been told over and over again, until the main point of the knowledge that was intentionally left for "us" to see, has gotten away from the point that it was intentionally left for. "Zecharia Sitchin" nailed this main "idea" in "The 12th Planet". The idea is there and written in history for us to see. I can't wait to order his next book in the "Earth Chronicle" series so that I can dive deeper into this lost knowledge that was left from our "ancenstors from the stars", this lost knowledge which everyone should be taking a more serious look into. All of this knowledge and proof of something more could stand up in court today, but we are too comfortable as a people in what we have been led to believe that we might get out of our "comfort zone" which makes people feel uneasy, which is understandable. It's not so far fetched to believe in such things, and I personally don't feel that it goes against religion in any way, but merely enhances the "true meaning that was meant to be left behind." I have been rambling on and on here about this book and then some so I hope this review helps anyone out there that is interested in this what seems today as a "controversial matter." It isn't controversial, but we as a people need to just open or minds and use the brain that was given to us. We are meant for great things. And we can achieve greater things then what is currently going on in the world today. "WE ARE MEANT FOR SOMETHING WAY MORE THEN THE WAY WE ARE LIVING TODAY, AND ITS A SHAME WE AREN'T UTILIZING THIS KNOWLEDGE"

puts a new and better meaning to our biblical accounts, actually accentuates the biblical stories, without the governments involvement. Makes one realize how the great maker has carried the lines down thru time to the fulfillment. Makes one a better CHRIST follower.

I was very excited about reading this book, until I got to about page 20 and could not push myself to go further. It was too complicated a read for me. I am interested and open to the author's ideas and wish I could have continued, but I found that due to the writing style I couldn't comfortably grasp the concept of what he was saying and it just wouldn't was too complex. A scholarly mind and/or background knowledge of world history and its terminology would be of great value to the reader of this one.

Fun and easy to follow. Although I'm not new to the ideas presented in this book I enjoyed it. The author does a fantastic job presenting his ideas and backing them up with facts. Very similar to Ancient Aliens and eye opening. Totally recommend it.

Very good book to read if you interested in the origins of man and it's ancient history. Very creative theory of how modern man came about. A must read for anyone starting to read on such matter...

Mr Sitchin write a compelling story about Earth's ancient history. Some of the references he uses are very interesting in their own right. Thought provoking and informative. Worth a read.

Whether you have religious beliefs of any kind or are a strict scientific thinker, this book has the potential to change your way of thinking. At the very least, it will you show you a very thorough and lengthy research process into the earliest civilizations and our planet's earliest history. While the conclusions made in this book may be controversial -- insert "aliens" reference here -- the logic and progression of this book makes it hard not to at least agree with his thinking along the way. While the book is a little slow going in the first third, you really get paid off with the "big picture" concepts after that. Enjoy!

First of a series of how the gods of the ancient are from a large planet that revolves around the sun every 3,600 years and created the civilization of the ancients. Makes a lot of assumptions about ancient clay tablets, but hey, who knows, right.

This would make the greatest movie ever. From the creation of Mars, Earth and the Asteroid Belt to the global symmetry of ancient civilizations, this entire series is astounding and far more believable than any religious version of human generation.
