Tryn Rose Seley's book is slim but beautiful and inspiring--a must read for anyone caring for a person with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia. Through vignettes and lovely photos she shows how it's possible to connect with a person with dementia even if they're in the final stages of the disease. They are still "here" and able to enjoy "15 minutes of fame" when you talk about their favorite life stories or share favorite photographs. Her book does much to overcome the stigma of dementia, and to show family caregivers and paid caregivers that the person with dementia is still able to enjoy small pleasures. "Fifteen Minutes of Fame" should be available to all family caregivers at their local office for the aging, and to all staff at assisted living facilities, "memory care" facilities, and nursing homes. ---author, "Inside the Dementia Epidemic: A Daughter's Memoir"
